Infrared sensor lens

A device for holding and positioning an optic, such as a refractive lens, over a light source such as a light emitting diode. The refractive lens is frustum-shaped with an upper light-exiting end having an upper rim, a lower light-entering end, and a conical sidewall that tapers from the upper rim to the lower end. The device has a channel including a base and first and second sidewalls extending from the opposed side edges of the base, and further having one or more optic holding positions. The optic holding position includes an aperture formed in the base that is configured to receive the conical sidewall of the optic, and an aperture formed in a portion of each sidewall, adjacent the aperture in the base, for retaining a portion of the upper rim of the optic lens. The aperture can include a slot opening through which a portion of the upper rim of the optic lens at least partially extends.

Foldable support for domed illumination element

A foldable element support made from planar sheet of material that can be formed by folding into a support for positioning and securing a refractor lens to a luminaire housing. The foldable element support is a planar sheet that has a central base having a central opening, a plurality of foldable securing arms formed into the central base for attaching the support to a luminaire housing, and a plurality of peripherally-arranged support flanges for supporting and positioning the upper rim of the refractor lens in proximity to the luminaire housing. The folded support can be manipulated into the folded configuration by hand, with hand tools, or by a machine.

Lampsocket base

A lampsocket having a porcelain body that has a base, a peripheral wall, and at least two of a rigid, longitudinal spacer projecting axially outwardly from the base. The longitudinal upper surfaces of the spacers engage opposite areas of the bottom of the base of the lamp. The lampsocket is intended for use with and to operate a class of lamps having a threaded base having an insulated extension from the central portion of the bottom of the lamp base, and a central button mounted on the insulated extension. The lampsocket can also accept, but can not make electrical contact with, other lamps that have a conventional base contact without the insulated extension.

A luminaire reflector formed from at least one sheet of reflective material is folded and curved by hand to form a self-standing reflector having a predetermined three-dimensional reflector shape. Each sheet of reflective material includes integral panels that are joined to adjacent panels through fold lines that allow the panels to be folded by hand. The panels have free edges that are folded and/or curved into abutting relationship. The panels include locking members and positioning tabs formed adjacent the free edges to retain the reflector in a predetermined three-dimensional reflector shape. Methods of making a self-standing reflector for a luminaire are also disclosed.

Self-standing reflector for a luminaire and method of making same

A retrofit luminaire assembly for mounting in an existing canopy fixture housing and methods of installing same. The retrofit luminaire assembly includes a planar panel having electrical control elements mounted to an upper surface of the panel. A lamp is received in a lamp socket mounted to the panel with a light-emitting section of the lamp extending away from a lower surface of the panel. A lens is mounted to the lower surface of the panel for enclosing the light-emitting section of the lamp. The panel preferably has a pair of oppositely directed pivot members which are adapted to engage with inwardly directed flanges of the canopy fixture housing to removably and pivotally support the panel for movement between a vertical, inoperative position and a horizontal, operative position. Flange extension members are provided to engage the inwardly directed flanges of the fixture housing to reduce the size of the opening for larger fixture housings to a desired common size opening. Methods of installing the retrofit luminaire assembly in the existing canopy fixture housing are also disclosed.

A retrofit luminaire assembly for mounting in an existing canopy fixture housing and methods of installing same.
