An espresso machine that includes a group control head for controlling the brewing and dispensing of espresso drinks. The group control head is in communication with a controller and memory. The combination is arranged to selectively record into the memory the brewing parameters during the dosing of espresso. A subsequent operation of the group control head then enables the controller to recall the recorded parameters such that the previous brewing conditions are replicated. Associated methods for recording the parameters under control of the group control head are also described.

Apparatus and method for optimizing the brewing of espresso

An espresso machine that includes a group control head for controlling the brewing and dispensing of espresso drinks. In particular, the group control head includes a novel arrangement of proximity switches, magnets, and centering post that allows for a more efficient workflow in the controlling, automating, and duplicating the brewing of multiple doses of espresso. An associated method for using the group control head is also described.

Apparatus and method for controlling an espresso machine

Two identical plates somewhat in the shape of very large eyeglass frames sandwiching two rotable discs, one for each eye, form the front section of the device. Each disc has a series of magnifying lenses of increasing power which can be brought into the eye openings in the plate when the discs are rotated and allow the user to focus on a group of alphbetical characters of a predetermined size and at a predetermined distance from the lenses at the end of a view tunnel. The strength of the lenses required for focusing can then be read from the disc where it is clearly indicated next to each lens. These lens strengths correspond to the power of reading glasses sold non-prescription in most drug stores.

A metal waist band held firmly in place by an adjustable nylon strap supports a lockable ball joint to which an adjustable bracket rod is affixed clasping the instrument and holding it away from the deadening effects of one's body. This device provides the following new capabilities: improved instrument stability, improved instrument positionability, improved instrument volume, and improved instrument tone quality. The player benefits from the stand point of health by the fact that the device places the weight of the instrument at the waist, devoiding neuromuscular problems frequently resulting from the shoulder method. Furthermore, the stability and position of the instrument secured by this device affords the player a greater fluency of technique.
