A toy launch apparatus for discharging soft foam darts, the launch apparatus having a cylinder, a piston, a launch spring and a dart tube. An air chamber with variable volume is formed between the cylinder and the piston and is divided into two or more sections, a first section where there is little or no resistance to relative movement between the cylinder and the piston so that there is a momentum gain, and a second section where there is rapid compression and increasing pressure to cause a loaded dart to be discharged.

A toy launch apparatus for discharging soft foam darts, the launch apparatus having a cylinder, a piston, a launch spring and a dart tube. A third section may be a transition section between the first and second sections.

A toy projectile that has two parts, a cup shaped inner core having a top wall, an annular wall extending from the top wall to a bead adjacent to a bottom end, and an outer covering being somewhat donut shaped with a central opening, a top end, a bottom end, a lower recess, a curved exterior surface and a chamfer adjacent to the bottom end. The inner core is received in the central opening of the outer covering such that the top wall of the inner core is continuous with the top end of the outer covering. The bottom of the projectile may be open or covered. The projectile includes geometric aspect ratios that provide the projectile with excellent flight characteristics. The ratios are: projectile outer diameter to projectile height between 4:1 to 5.2:1; projectile outer diameter to core outer diameter between 1.20:1 to 1.45 to 1; projectile height to core bead height between 2.3:1 to 3.25:1; outer covering volume to inner core volume between 2.4:1 to 5.8:1; profile radius to projectile height between 0.5:1 to 0.8:1; and chamfer height to chamfer width between 2:1 to 6.1.

Aerodynamic flying disc

An article of footwear having a fluid system including an inflatable bladder, an inflation mechanism, and a valve for facilitating air movement through the fluid system. In one embodiment, the valve is an outlet valve between the inflation mechanism and the inflatable bladder that includes an umbrella valve. In another embodiment, the valve is an outlet valve between the inflation mechanism and the inflatable bladder wherein a seating of the outlet valve forms a portion of the inflatable bladder and a portion of an inflation chamber of the inflation mechanism. The seating includes a flange for preventing blocked air flow to the valve. In another embodiment, the valve includes an umbrella valve and an inlet filter for keeping particulates from compromising the umbrella valve.

Inflation mechanism and outlet valve for an article of footwear incorporating an inflatable bladder

A configurable fluid transfer system for inflatable footwear includes a manifold. The manifold has a top surface, a bottom surface with a plurality of openings, a lateral side with at least one opening, a medial side, a heel side with a plurality of openings and a forefoot side. The manifold is part of an inflation system having an underfoot pump connected to one of the plurality of openings in the heel side of the manifold, an inflatable forefoot bladder connected to two of the plurality of openings in the bottom surface of the manifold and an inflatable heel bladder connected to one of the plurality of openings in the bottom surface of the manifold. fluid flows from the underfoot pump to the inflatable forefoot bladder through a one-way valve and into a first channel in the manifold connected to a forefoot bladder. The fluid inflates the forefoot bladder and exits into a second channel in the manifold. fluid flows from the inflatable forefoot bladder to the inflatable heel bladder through the second channel and inflates the heel bladder.

Configurable fluid transfer manifold for inflatable footwear

An article of footwear includes a movable knob and a lever coupled to the knob. The movable knob is accessible from an exterior surface of the article of footwear and has a substantially low profile with respect to the exterior surface of the article of footwear. The lever has a first position in which the lever lays flat against the knob and a second position wherein the lever is positioned for a user to move the knob via the lever. In one embodiment, an article of footwear also includes an inflatable bladder, an inflation mechanism and a deflation mechanism. The knob is part of a deflation mechanism including a cap and a base, wherein the base is anchored to the inflatable bladder and the cap is rotatable with respect to the base. In another embodiment, an article of footwear includes a movable knob accessible from an exterior surface of the article of footwear and an apron substantially surrounding the movable knob. The apron includes ramped sides and provides a substantially low profile to the knob with respect to the exterior surface of the article of footwear. The apron may be temporarily removed from the knob such that a user may access the knob.

Low profile deflation mechanism for an inflatable bladder

An article of footwear includes a sole having a shank area located between a forefoot portion and a rear foot portion of the sole, an upper including an inner counter and an outer counter, and a pivot mechanism attaching the outer counter to the sole so as to permit the outer counter to pivot relative to the inner counter at a pivot point located at the shank area of the sole. The outer counter pivots between an open position away from the inner counter and a closed position in supporting engagement with the inner counter. The pivot mechanism may be a mechanical, composite, or living hinge. The article of footwear may further include a locking mechanism for selectively securing the outer counter in the closed position in supporting engagement with the inner counter.

Rear entry footwear

An article of footwear including a sole and an upper with an exterior and interior surface, and one or more bladders which comprises at least one of the exterior or interior surfaces of the upper. The article of footwear also includes a inflation mechanism located under the foot of the wearer to be activated by the normal action of the wearer to inflate the one or more bladders. The inflation mechanism may be monolithic with the bladder or may be a satellite inflation mechanism coupled to the bladder. The article of footwear may also include a deflation mechanism. The deflation mechanism may include a release valve capable of remaining in a open position and/or an adjustable check valve. The deflation mechanism may also be a combination check valve and release valve accessing a single opening in the bladder.
