The device includes a housing, a locking and release mechanism, an electrical connector, an optical connector, and pathological circuitry. The housing has a top, a bottom, a front, and a back. The locking and release mechanism is attached to the housing. The electrical connector is attached to the back of the housing. The optical connector is attached to the front of the housing. The pathological circuitry handles pathological conditions associated with digital video signals.

Pluggable video module

The device includes a first optical connector, a second optical connector, a flexible substrate, a first electrical connector, a second electrical connector, a memory chip, and a clip. The first electrical connector is attached to the flexible substrate. The second electrical connector is attached to the flexible substrate. The memory chip is attached to the flexible substrate. A clip retains the first optical connector and the second optical connector adjacent to the flexible substrate.

Transceiver/fiber optic connector adaptor with patch cord ID reading capability

A pluggable video module (PVM) having a housing with a top, a bottom, a front and a back; a locking and release mechanism proximate the front of the module for securing the module within a host device; an electrical connector proximate the back of the module for electrically connecting the module to a host device; an optical connector proximate the front of the module for receiving an optical connector; and a key slot on the bottom and proximate the rear of the module for receiving a key tab from a host device, thereby allowing the module to be inserted into a host receptacle having a key tab.
