This disclosure describes techniques for determining whether to approve or deny a borrower's lending-product request by selectively using a heuristic and statistical model. More specifically, a borrower may submit a lending-product request to a Statistical Risk Management (SRM) system, and in doing so the SRM system may analyze relationship attributes of the borrower to determine a likelihood of borrower repaying a loan over a predetermined time period, and avoid being charged off. In some examples, the SRM system may execute a plurality of statistical models to determine a charge-off probability score. Each statistical model may be based on a set, or subset of historical lending-product data. A subset of historical lending-product data may be based on a selection bias of shared characteristics within a set of historical lending-product data. The selection bias may be based on characteristics of a lending-product request or relationship attributes of a borrower.

Statistical risk management system for lending decisions

Centralized model for lending risk management system

A modular testing device includes a base unit and an expansion unit that communicates with the base unit. The expansion unit includes a housing, a receptacle in which a sample holder containing a biological sample and reagent mixture can be placed, and an optical assembly positioned in the housing. The optical assembly is configured to amplify and detect a signal from the biological sample and reagent mixture. Data that is collected in the optical assembly is communicated to the base unit.

Embodiments of the invention provide a filter kit including filters for processing a biological sample. Some embodiments include a filter cap in a tube kit with a first tube containing a buffer solution and a second tube containing a lyophilized master mix. Some embodiments include a method of processing a sample using the kit including mixing a biological sample in a first tube with the buffer solution, positioning the filter cap in the first tube, positioning a second tube on the filter cap, flipping the first tube, the filter cap, and the second cap to filter the biological sample and buffer solution mixture with the filter cap as it flows from the first tube to the second tube. Some embodiments include structure enabling transfer of materials through inline flow between the tubes. The body extends between the proximal and distal anchors assemblies, the device being adapted such that the anchors are selectively spaced apart for fixed positioning within a lower urinary tract in furtherance of a portion of the body at least partially traversing a prostatic urethra.
