The present invention provides systems and methods of facilitating money transfers. The method includes receiving, at a money transfer system, access to a customer's account, establishing, at the money transfer system, a money transfer record including a recipient and an amount, and receiving, at the money transfer system, an identifier for the money transfer record. The method further includes receiving presentation of the identifier at an input device of the money transfer system and authorizing a money transfer associated with the money transfer record.

Money transfer systems and methods

This disclosure describes, generally, methods and systems for certifying user identities (IDs). The method includes receiving, from a customer, a certification request for a user ID. The method then identifies the user ID's owner and collects information about the owner. The information may include financial information, personal information, biographical information, etc. The method then analyzes the collected information to generate a risk score associated with the user ID, and based on the risk score exceeding a threshold, the method certifies the user ID.

Methods and systems for online fraud protection

According to the invention, a method for purchasing a negotiable instrument from an online payment system by a payor to compensate a payee in relation to a listing on a vending site is disclosed. In one step, a payment currency and/or a drawee bank nationality is selected for the online payment system to use when issuing the payment instrument. Payment information is received from the payor and comprises at least two of: a payee identifier, a payee name, a payee address, and a payment amount. A money handler associated with the payor is debited for at least the payment amount. The payment instrument payable to the payee name for the payment amount is generated. That payment instrument is based on at least one of the payment currency and the drawee bank nationality. The payment currency is different from a currency used by the money handler. The payment instrument is delivered to the payee.

International negotiable instrument payment

Methods and systems are described for processing transactions. The methods and systems enable a consumer to present a customer identifier, such as a merchant loyalty or membership card or other identifier as a payment device at a point of sale. In one implementation, a personal account number is generated by appending a proprietary routing code to a customer registration account number so that the personal account number is formatted for transmission as a payment device number over an electronic funds transfer network. In another implementation, the customer registration account number comprises the proprietary routing code. A preferred payment account identifier is accessed, based on the personal account number, from a database, and a transaction approval message is constructed comprising the preferred payment account identifier. The account from which payment is made may be a credit account, a demand deposit account, a stored value account, or another kind of account.

Electronic network access device

Stored value cards, such as gift cards, from different card issuers are displayed for sale and activation at retail locations. A distribution database system maintains records of cards sold at the retail locations. The system accounts to each retailer for commissions owed for cards sold by that retailer, and accounts to each card issuer for its cards that are sold at each retail location.

System and method for accounting for activation of stored value cards

According to the invention, a method for processing a transaction where the transaction is initiated by a payor online, but paid to a payee in-person, is disclosed. In one step, payor information is accepted at a location that located across a wide area network from the payor. Transaction information and payment source information is also accepted at the location. The transaction information includes an amount and a payee identifier and the payment source information includes account details associated with an account of the payor at a money handler. A risk related to a likelihood that the transaction will complete successfully is evaluated. Validating that the payment source information is associated with the payor is manually performed if the risk is excessive. The risk can generally be reduced by the manual validation. The money handler is billed for at least the amount. It is determined if the money handler settles the amount. Historical information on the transaction is stored.

Authentication for online money transfers

A method for paying for an auction item at least partially using an online payment system by a payor to compensate a payee includes receiving at a host computer system payment information relating to a transaction. The payment information includes comprising at least a payee identifier, a first payment amount, and an auction identifier. The auction identifier relates to an auction that was won by the payor that was for the auction item. The method also includes generating a transaction identifier at the host computer system and transmitting the transaction identifier to the payor. The method further includes receiving at a retail location a payment and using the transaction identifier to relate the payment to the transaction. The method further includes making a second payment amount available to the payee. The second payment amount may be based on the payment.

Online staging of auction settlement transactions

The present invention provides systems and methods to initiate, facilitate, process and/or perform money transfers. One such method includes establishing a money transfer record () and receiving, from a vendor location, a money transfer activation request () associated with the money transfer record. The method includes receiving a fulfillment request () associated with the money transfer record, collecting a customer data set, and authorizing a money transfer () associated with the money transfer record. The money transfer is facilitated by the creation of a money transfer record, which may occur prior to the money transfer activation request. The customer then can initiate the money transfer while at the vendor location using, for example, money transfer cards available for purchase from the vendor.

Money transfer cards, systems and methods

A method for facilitating the sale of goods or services comprises receiving at an ordering system payment information relating to a payment instrument that is being used to purchase a good or a service from a merchant. The ordering system transmits a message to the merchant that includes information on the good or service being purchased to permit the merchant to provide the good or service. Funds are collected from an account associated with the payment instrument, and the ordering system transmits to a money transfer computer system information useable by the money transfer computer system to provide a cash payment to the merchant.
