Filler frames for mounting on exterior or interior surfaces of metal building siding panels, and also configurable for mounting around cut-out openings in siding panels. Filler frames include one or more connected frame panels having a substantially flat top portion, and a bottom portion having a bottom surface that is shaped to nest on and mate with a correspondingly shaped portion of a repeating ridge pattern of the respective building side panel on which each of the frame panels is configured to be mounted upon, thus leaving no gaps between the filler frame and the building siding panels. Frame panels of filler frames may alternatively have one or more foam portions attached to a bottom surface providing for an effective seal. One or more gaps are formed in such foam portions to facilitate the use of fasteners for mounting of the filler frame to a building siding panel.

Filler frames for buildings with ridged panels

A low profile inductive apparatus is provided via one or more traces in a printed circuit board, the one or more traces defining inductive winding turns about an aperture, and a core comprising an elongate core member configured for positioning through the aperture of the circuit board. The core may be press fit with respect to the printed circuit board, or alternatively the elongate core member and the aperture may be reciprocally threaded. In an embodiment, core flanges may be provided on opposing sides of the printed circuit board, with the elongate core member connected between the core flanges and extending through the aperture. The number of inductive winding turns relates to a required inductance of the inductor when the elongate core member is positioned through the aperture, and a width and thickness of the windings corresponds to a required carrying capacity of the inductor.

Low profile inductor

A magnetic component provides both electrical interconnectivity and mechanical support between stacked circuit boards. The magnetic component includes a bobbin structure and a magnetically permeable core. The bobbin structure includes an upper bobbin pin rail and a lower bobbin pin rail. The upper bobbin pin rail includes one or more upper bobbin pins extending from the upper bobbin pin rail. Each upper bobbin pin may be adapted for soldering onto a first circuit board. At least one lower bobbin pin extends from the lower bobbin pin rail. Each lower bobbin pin may also be adapted for soldering onto a second circuit board, forming a circuit board assembly. Each soldered connection between a bobbin pin and a circuit board may provide an electrical connection between the circuit board and the magnetic component. Each soldered connection may also provide a mechanical attachment between a printed circuit board and the magnetic component. A conductive coil is positioned on the bobbin structure and may be connected to an upper or lower bobbin pin. The core is positioned near the conductive coil for providing an electrical connection between the circuit boards through magnetic coupling.

Magnetic circuit board stacking component

A magnetic component includes a bobbin structure adapted for attachment to a circuit board. The magnetic component may include a magnetically permeable core and a conductive winding. The bobbin structure may include a gap for inserting the edge of a circuit board. Potential applications of the magnetic component include mechanically and electrically interconnecting two or more circuit boards in a substantially side-by-side configuration while providing increased heat dissipation from the magnetic component, improving power density of the electronic device, reducing electronic device profile, allowing magnetic isolation between high-voltage and low-voltage circuits and allowing single-sided and double-sided circuit boards to be used in a single circuit. Also, a circuit board assembly may have two or more circuit boards electrically and mechanically connected by at least one magnetic component.

Magnetic circuit board connector component

A magnetic device is provided for placement on the top surface of a printed circuit board with surface mount connection on the bottom surface. The circuit board includes first and second sets of slots bisecting each other. The device includes a bobbin with a plurality of support members each having a face shaped to engage the top surface of the printed circuit board and a plurality of pins attached to the support members. The pins have a first portion shaped to pass through the first set of slots, and a second portion shaped to pass through the second set of slots. The second portion of the pins is shaped to engage the bottom surface of the circuit board, locking the magnetic device in place against the top surface of the circuit board and providing a soldering area for surface mounting on the bottom surface.
