A hydraulic brake assembly () includes a housing () having first and second side-by-side bores (), each defining a respective master cylinder assembly. Each master cylinder assembly includes a master cylinder piston () slidably movable by actuation of a respective brake pedal () to and between an active position and an inactive position. A spool () slidably disposed within a piston bore () of the master cylinder piston () is operable in a first mode to direct hydraulic fluid from a quick-fill chamber () to a master cylinder chamber () at a first pressure upon initial movement of the master cylinder piston () from the inactive position toward the active position. The spool () is operable in a second mode to direct hydraulic fluid from the quick-fill chamber () to a tank () when pressure in the master cylinder chamber () reaches a predefined threshold.

Dual master cylinder brake assembly with quick-fill function

A twin power valve assembly () for a hydraulic braking system having a single body () with twin power valve arrangements, each having a spool () with a longitudinally extending passageway (D,D') for providing a modulation of the pressure applied to the brakes, and an integral balance piston () contained within the body () that equalizes the pressure applied to the left and right hand brakes when both brakes are applied.

A combined master cylinder and dump valve includes a piston slideable within a body bore that defines a master cylinder for pressurizing a brake port. The piston includes a piston seal for isolating a pressure port from a tank port, a piston bore, a first piston hole set for hydraulically connecting the pressure port to the piston bore and a second piston hole set for hydraulically connecting the piston bore to the tank port. A plunger slideably received in the piston bore has a plunger hole set for selectively connecting the first piston hole set with a plunger bore, and a plunger seal arrangement for selectively isolating the first piston hole set from the plunger bore. The plunger bore is hydraulically connected to the piston bore.

Master cylinder

A hydraulic brake valve comprising a body, a passageway defined in the body, an inlet to the passageway, an outlet from the passageway and a movable valve member in the passageway, the valve member is movable between a first position blocking the passageway to prevent communication between the inlet and the outlet, and a second position opening the passageway to allow communication between the inlet and the outlet in response to a pressure differential exceeding a predetermined value. The valve member remains in its second position once it has been moved to its second position.

Hydraulic brake valve

A bi-directional braking assembly for a vehicle includes a hydraulic booster assembly for applying proportional fluid pressure to a brake assembly and is actuated by a forward pedal. A master cylinder actuated by a rear pedal communicates fluid to the hydraulic booster assembly through a hydraulic booster valve. The hydraulic booster valve includes a piston movable to regulate hydraulic pressure in response to actuation of first and second plungers. The second plunger is movable along an axis separate from the first plunger in response to actuation of a master cylinder by a rear pedal. The master cylinder provides pressure to the booster valve assembly that acts on an area between the first and second plunger assemblies to move the second plunger away from the first plunger to actuate and move the booster piston within the valve.

Remotely and directly pedal operated hydraulic compact booster for bi-directional braking

Hydraulic braking systems for vehicles

A dual hydraulic booster assembly for a braking system of a tractor or like vehicle has a logic valve operable in a first mode to control the supply of pressure fluid for braking on one side of the vehicle to facilitate steering, and in a second mode of operation to control the supply of fluid pressure for braking on both sides of the vehicle for full vehicle retardation. A pressure amplifier valve may be provided to increase the pressure of the pressure fluid from the logic valve for braking in the second mode of operation. The logic valve and amplifier valve may be incorporated into the booster assembly to provide an integrated unit.
