A method and a device for detecting the initiation of a starting process of a motorcycle are disclosed. The method includes the step of acquiring a throttle valve angle (&#x3b1;), an engine speed (n) or both the throttle valve angle (&#x3b1;) and the engine speed (n). The method further includes the step of analyzing the throttle valve angle (&#x3b1;), the engine speed (n) or both the throttle valve angle (&#x3b1;) and the engine speed (n) to detect the initiation of the starting process of the motorcycle. The device includes both a means for acquiring and a means for analyzing the throttle valve angle (&#x3b1;), the engine speed (n) or both the throttle valve angle (&#x3b1;) and the engine speed (n).

According to a method for operating an actuating unit for motor vehicle brakes, an electromagnet that actuates a sealing seat of its control valve is controlled by a minimum current during a pressure-maintaining phase which is carried out independently of the vehicle operator's will, in order to avoid damaging of the coil of the electromagnet. To this end, a current controlling the electromagnet is slowly reduced until a previously fixed pressure decrease compared to the original value occurs. A previously fixed value is added to this current value, and the electromagnet is actuated by a current value corresponding to the result of the addition.

Method for operating an actuating unit for motor vehicle brakes

A system for vehicle driver support carrying out assist functions in a motor vehicle for supporting the driver in stopping and starting maneuvers, which are activated depending on a first comparison between at least one driving state parameter and a threshold value and/or based on first actuating signals from an actuating unit operable by the driver. A control unit determines a vehicle state by way of another comparison of at least one driving state variable with a predetermined threshold value and/or based on additional actuating signals of the actuating unit, in that the control unit checks whether at least one assist function is activated, and in that the control unit controls the brake system of the vehicle depending on the detected vehicle state when at least one assist function is activated.
