An adapter system for protection of electronics from voltage spikes induced on connected wires. Said adapter system comprises an enclosure, one or more power line connectors and a suppression elements. Two or more plug sockets comprise at least a first line socket and a neutral socket. Said first line socket connects to a first line. Said neutral socket connects to a neutral. Said adapter system is configured to connect to at least said first line with said one or more power line connectors and suppressing a portion of a power on said first line with said suppression elements.

An apparatus for diverting incoming printed products is provided. The apparatus includes a roll, a first motor coupled to the roll and a controller coupled to the first motor for controlling the rotation of the roller for diverting printed products along one of two different paths, each path associated with a direction of rotation of the roll. This apparatus may also include a shaft with at least one flipper mounted thereon and a second motor coupled to the shaft.

Apparatus for electronically diverting signatures

An apparatus for diverting incoming printed products which includes a shaft, at least one first flipper mounted in a first fixed direction on the shaft, a motor coupled to the shaft; and a controller coupled to the motor for controlling positioning of the shaft to allowing printed products to be diverted along different paths associated with a particular shaft position. The apparatus further includes a low inertia coupler interconnected between the motor and the shaft. Alternatively, the apparatus includes a roll, a first motor coupled to the roll and a controller coupled to the first motor for controlling the rotation of the roller for diverting printed products along one of two different paths, each path associated with a direction of rotation of the roll. This alternative apparatus may also include a shaft with at least one flipper mounted thereon and a second motor coupled to the shaft.

A folder includes a first signature conveyor conveying first signatures along a first signature path; a second signature conveyor conveying second signatures along a second signature path; and a chopper located between the first and second signature paths imparting a fold on both the first and second signatures. A chopper and method are also provided.

An apparatus for cutting and folding printed products is provided. The apparatus includes a perforator, a first cutting device creating first slits in the web, a second cutting device creating second slits in the web longitudinally offset from the first slits so as to form a signature with a staggered edge, and a folder delta-folding the signature so that the staggered edge engages slots in the signature, the slots created by the perforator. A method of folding a printed product and a signature are also provided. Lead edges can be more easily prevented from dislodging and dog-earing and skewing can be minimized.

A paper processing device, in particular, a folder that includes an apparatus for replacing tapes that convey signatures and a method for replacing tapes of the paper processing device. The paper processing device has a frame or frames with opposing sides and a plurality of cylinders disposed between the opposing sides of the frames. Each one of the cylinders has an axis for rotation thereabout. The paper processing device includes a plurality of tapes and each one of the plurality of tapes is disposed to circulate around the plurality of cylinders. The paper processing device includes a holder for holding an end of the replacement tape that will be provided to replace one of the plurality of tapes, and an elongated conveying element disposed for circulation around the axis of the plurality of cylinders. The elongated conveying element is attached to the holder for guiding the replacement tape around the plurality of cylinders. The method includes a step of splicing two ends of the replacement tape together after the holder moves the replacement tape around the cylinders.

The present invention is related to a diverting device for a continuous sequence of flat products travelling in a product travel plane. A first product exit path and a second product exit path emerge both from said product travel plane. An upper set of supply tapes and a lower set of supply tapes each comprise actuatable diverter guide members, respectively. The diverter guide members, form upper and lower diverting planes, respectively, with exit tapes upon movement of the diverter guide members about respective axes.

Apparatus for diverting a continuous stream of flat products to alternate paths

An apparatus for preventing jams in a folder of a printing press includes a roller having vacuum holes to which vacuum pressure may be applied to attract the loosely constrained signature towards the roller. The signature will follow the curved path of the roller and be led away from a jam area of the printing press. When the printing press is running at normal operating speed (e.g., steady state), the vacuum is removed from the roller because the signatures will be guided by grippers and will then take a path through the printing press for further processing.

Apparatus for preventing jams in a folder of a printing press

A lubricant transfer connection for transferring lubricant from a lubricant transfer line which feeds into a lubricant supply bore machined in a bearing support housing. A lubricant transfer bushing is located at the moving interface between the lubricant supply bore machined in the bearing support housing and a lubricant input port in a cam follower lever arm. The lubricant transfer bushing is designed so that it provides a movable, sealed, connection between the lubricant channel in the bearing support housing and the lubricant input port in the cam follower lever arm, in all positions of the cam follower and cam follower lever arm. A lubricant passage through the lubricant transfer bearing is sized and positioned sufficiently to allow it to provide a passageway between the lubricant channel in the bearing support housing and the lubricant input port in the cam follower lever arm in any angular position of the cam follower lever arm, but the overlap of the passages is not excessive, so that the lubricant channel and the lubricant input port are not exposed to the atmosphere to cause leaks. The lubricant input port in the cam follower lever arm leads to passages in the cam follower lever arm and the cam follower, which transfer lubricating lubricant from the lubricant input port to the cam follower without leakage.
