A shutter device is provided for a bypass isolation automatic transfer switch. The shutter device comprises a frame and a shutter that is movably supported by the frame and that is configured to selectively cover and uncover conductors. At least one cam is movably supported by the frame and at least one shutter lever is interposed between the shutter and the at least one cam. The shutter lever is configured to move the shutter in response to movement of the cam.

Device and method for switching electrical energy

An Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) having a switch configured to connect one of two sources to a load, a mechanical drive, an actuator, and a solid state control relay is disclosed. The mechanical drive is configured to drive the switch between a first position and a second position, the first position connecting the switch to the first source, and the second position connecting the switch to the second source. The actuator is in mechanical communication with the mechanical drive to cause the mechanical drive to move on command. The solid state control relay is responsive to an external signal and productive of a control signal, wherein the actuator is responsive to the control signal to cause the mechanical drive to move.

Automatic transfer switch apparatus

An automatic transfer switch and protection device is provided. The device includes a contact, a drive assembly, and a controller. The contact is movable among a first position, a second position, and a third position. The drive assembly moves the contact among the first, second, and third positions. The controller receives a first signal indicative of a condition of power in a first power source and a second power source. The controller provides a second signal to the drive assembly to move the contact in response to the first signal. The contact can provide power to a load from the first source in the first position, from the second source in the second position, and can isolate the load from the first and second sources in the third position.

Automatic transfer switch and protection device

A transfer switch for switching between power sources for a load includes a plurality of symmetrical phase plates, a plurality of stationary contact pads associated with each said phase plate, each stationary contact pad associated with a power source, a movable contact assembly associated with each phase plate, and a shaft connecting the phase plates and upon which each movable contact assembly is mounted for movement between stationary contact pads associated with each phase plate. The above transfer switch allows for two, three and four-pole modular configuration with minimal additional hardware.

Methods and apparatus for transfer switch

An automatic transfer switch includes a main body having a solenoid side and an auxiliary side. A solenoid side limit switch assembly is mounted to the solenoid side and an auxiliary side limit switch assembly is mounted on the auxiliary side. The solenoid side limit switch assembly includes a plurality of limit switches and a solenoid side mounting plate. The auxiliary side limit switch assembly includes a plurality of limit switches and an auxiliary side mounting plate.
