A slide assembly for a ladder rack may be adapted to selectively move with respect to a roof bow rail. The assembly may have first and second slide walls connected together by an intermediate rail slide wall and at least one fastener, where the at least one fastener may be adapted to be slidably received within the roof bow rail. The assembly may also have a support flange connected to the second rail slide wall. The assembly may also have a housing connected to the support flange, where a retention tube is rotatably mounted within the housing. A first gripper member may be connected to the retention tube for selective movement therewith.

A tool mounting device may have a base having a first base flange and a second base flange extending therefrom. A tool support may be connected to the first and second base flanges where the tool support may be adapted for selective pivotal motion with respect to the first and second base flanges. The tool support may have a first arm and a second arm and the arms may be connected by an arm base. The arms may also be adapted to support a tool thereon. A biasing member may be connected between one of the base flanges and the tool support.

A ladder rack system may have a slide with a support flange and a spanning flange. The system may also have a ladder support member adapted to selectively receive a portion of the support flange therein. A system and method for mounting structures to a vehicle may include providing an anchor point; the anchor point may have of an anchor point aperture in a structural member. The system and method may also include securing a plate to the anchor point by aligning an aperture in an anchor flange of the plate with the anchor point aperture. The system and method may also include locating a fastener through the anchor flange aperture and the anchor point aperture to secure the plate to the anchor point.

An oil bath geartrain for a powermill includes a gear casing defining an interior area having an oil reservoir that maintains a predetermined oil level and which includes structures for continuously distributing oil to gear teeth and babbitt bearings so that recurrent servicing of gear-related components is not necessary. The oil bath geartrain includes an oil lift gear having teeth that lift oil from the oil reservoir and then lubricates and input shaft bearing and communicates that oil via an oil ring so as to lubricate an intermediate shaft bearing. The oil ring acts as an oil scraper. The oil bath geartrain includes a main pinion gear, intermediate pinion gear, and accommodation of miter gears coupled to the output shaft. Another oil scraper plate communicates oil from the main pinion gear to the output shaft miter gear teeth. The gear casing includes passages for communicating oil to input shaft bearings.

A shelf system may have a shelf member, and a biasing bracket attached to the shelf member having a rear portion and a forward portion. The system may also have a biasing member having a first end connected to the rear portion of the biasing bracket and a second end connected to the shelf member. The forward portion of the biasing bracket may have a lower stop adapted to prevent the shelf member from extending below a horizontal orientation. And, a pivot bracket may be located behind the lower stop through which a pivot extends and into the biasing bracket to permit selective movement of the shelf member.

A vehicle roof rail assembly may have a rail with an upper channel, a first channel below the upper channel and a second channel below the first channel. The assembly may also have a mounting portion with a channel portion adapted to be selectively located at least partially within the second channel and for selective sliding movement within the second channel. The mounting portion may also have a foot portion connected to the channel portion. A base portion of the foot portion may be adapted to selectively pivot.

A ladder rack system for accommodating at least two stacked ladders thereon is disclosed. The system may have a stationary forward roof rail and a stationary rear roof rail. Pivotable ladder rack rear and pivotable ladder rack forward rails may also be provided. The ladder rack rear and forward rails may be selectively moved with respect to the stationary forward and rear roof rails via links that are connected to a connector bar and lever arm.
