A device and method of positioning a component on a cable. The method includes: moving a collet into position on the component; engaging the component with the collet; moving the collet with the component positioned thereon into alignment with an end of the cable; securing the collet to the end of the cable; moving the component from the collet to the cable; and removing the collet from the end of the cable.

A cable holding system for positioning a cable relative to a cable processing machine comprises a cable holding device for selectively clamping onto a cable to be processed, and a receiver. The receiver includes an opening for selectively receiving the cable holding device in a predetermined orientation, and a mounting base for fixing the location of the receiver relative to the cable processing machine.

A portable visual inspection apparatus comprises a box including a lower box portion and an upper box portion. The upper box portion defines a first accommodation space and is connected to the lower box portion such that is capable of being opened and closed. A press head for a press machine used to press-fit a connector to a printed circuit board includes a press motor operable in a pressing operation, a driver assembly operably coupled to the press motor and movable during the pressing operation, and a press anvil operably coupled to the driver assembly and movable by the driver assembly during the pressing operation. The press anvil has a load cell housing holding a load cell and a contact plate coupled to the load cell housing and engaging the load cell. The contact plate has a contact surface configured to engage the connector or a seating tool for the connector and configured to press the connector toward the printed circuit board during the pressing operation. The load cell measures a pressing load of the contact plate during the pressing operation.

A splice terminal for connecting a magnet wire to a lead wire. The splice terminal includes a first closed section and a second open section. The first closed section has a first section bottom wall, first section side walls and a first section top wall. An opening is provided between the first section bottom wall, the first section side walls and the first section top wall. The opening is configured to receive the magnet wire therein. The opening has a height between the first section bottom wall and the first section top wall which is larger than the diameter of the magnet wire. The second open section has a second section bottom wall and second section side walls. The second section is configured to receive the magnet wire and the lead wire therein.

A terminal crimping device that crimps a terminal to a component includes a terminal feeder feeding one or more pre-formed terminals on a generally horizontal feed plane and a ram moving a drive crimper along a generally vertical crimp stroke. The drive crimper engages the pre-formed terminal at the feed plane and transfers the terminal to a crimp zone below the feed plane and remote from the terminal strip to crimp the terminal to the component.
