A compressor comprising: a stator assembly comprising a plurality of stator elements; a rotor assembly comprising a shaft to which is mounted at least one bearing, a permanent magnet and an impeller; a support body; and an outer can comprising an air inlet. The support body comprises a hollow elongate central part to which is mounted the at least one bearing, and inside which the magnet is positioned, the elongate central part comprising a plurality of openings, and the air inlet of the outer can is axially aligned at least partially with the plurality of openings in the elongate central part.

A brushless motor comprising a rotor assembly comprising a shaft, an impeller, a bearing assembly and a rotor core; a stator assembly; a frame comprising an outer portion and a support portion radially inward of the outer portion, the support portion supporting at least one of the rotor assembly and the stator assembly; and at least one strut extending between the outer portion and the support portion, wherein the strut and the stator assembly are aligned such that at least part of the strut and at least part of the stator assembly are disposed along a line substantially parallel to a rotation axis of the rotor assembly.

A compressor has a rotor assembly having an impeller for generating an airflow through the compressor, a stator core assembly for causing rotation of the impeller, and a diffuser assembly for acting on the airflow generated by the impeller. The diffuser assembly has a first diffuser stage and a second diffuser stage. The first and second diffuser stages are separate components connected to one another by a fastener.

A vacuum cleaner having a main body and a dirt separator that is removably attached to the main body. The dirt separator includes a first dirt-separation stage, a second dirt-separation stage, and a vacuum motor for moving air through the first dirt-separation stage and the second dirt-separation stage. The vacuum motor has an impeller driven by an electric motor. The first dirt-separation stage is then located upstream of the impeller, and the second dirt-separation stage is located downstream of the impeller.

A vacuum cleaner having a dirt-separation stage and a vacuum motor for moving air through the dirt-separation stage. The vacuum motor includes an impeller driven by an electric motor. The impeller is then located upstream of the dirt-separation stage, the electric motor is located downstream of the dirt-separation stage, and at least part of the air discharged from the dirt-separation stage is used to cool the electric motor.

A vacuum cleaner that includes a first dirt-separation stage, a second dirt-separation stage, and a vacuum motor for moving air through the first dirt-separation stage and the second dirt-separation stage. The vacuum motor has a centrifugal impeller driven by an electric motor. The first dirt-separation stage is then located upstream of the impeller, the second dirt-separation stage is located downstream of the impeller, and the second dirt-separation stage has a plurality of cyclonic separators that are arranged around the vacuum motor.

Diffuser

An agitation apparatus which is suitable for use in a cleaning head of a vacuum cleaner includes first and second flow paths. Each of these flow paths has a resonant cavity and an inlet/outlet port which joins the cavity to a space within the cleaning head. A generator, such as a loudspeaker with a diaphragm, generates an alternating pressure wave between the ports. Pressure waves are emitted from one of the ports in an anti-phase relationship with the pressure waves from the other of the ports, thus reducing operating noise. Due to both sides of the generator or diaphragm being exposed to an equal static pressure, the generator operates more reliably. A plurality of these arrangements can be provided across the cleaning head, and a part of the agitation apparatus, such as the driver, can be mounted on the main body of the vacuum cleaner.

Agitation apparatus

A sensor system for determining acceptable magnetization between a magnetic clamp and a mold patent for a quick mold change system on an injection molding machine includes secondary sensing coils magnetically coupled with a switchable magnet in the clamp effecting a voltage output in accordance with magnetic flux conditions between the magnets and the mold and providing a control signal based on changes in said flux condition for controlling activity of said workpiece in accordance therewith.
