An assembly for damping the movement of a vibrating body includes an energy dissipating material, a vessel, and a seal. The energy dissipating material may include one or more types of loose particles. The loose particles may include similar and/or dissimilar materials or a mixture thereof. The loose particles may at least partially fill the vessel. The vessel may be configured to conform to requirements of an environment of the vibrating body and to retain and/or store the loose particles. The seal may include a molded material, a plate, and/or a flange. In an embodiment, the plate may be at least partially encompassed within the seal, and the seal, plate, and/or flange may be configured to engage the vessel and/or to retain the loose particles within the vessel.

Particle damper system and method

A method according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, adjusting the feel of a brake pedal based on a comparison between a predetermined level of resistance to an input braking force and a measured input braking force.

System and method for brake pedal feel control

A brake pedal assembly for a brake-by-wire system or vehicle having a traction battery. The brake pedal assembly has both a pedal feel simulator and an adjustable brake pedal. The pedal feel simulator has a fixed cam surface and a moving cam follower that provides increased resistance that simulates that of an actual brake system as the brake pedal arm is depressed. The brake pedal assembly has a pivotal adjustment subassembly that the cam follower may extend from. The adjustment subassembly may also have a brake pedal arm adjustably connected to and extending therefrom. The adjustment subassembly provides a consistent path of rotation per brake pedal depress allowing for the cam follower to have substantially consistent movement across the fixed cam surface, providing substantially consistent pedal feel feedback, regardless of where the brake pedal has been adjusted to within a vehicle foot-well.

Adjustable brake pedal system

A brake pedal assembly for a vehicle having a brake pedal arm having an initial position and an adjustment subassembly configured to adjust the initial position. The brake pedal assembly is further provided with a preload spring configured to provide a preload force to the brake pedal arm and a preload adjustment cam in cooperation with the brake pedal arm. The adjustment subassembly and the preload spring are configured to change the preload force in response to a change in the initial position.

A brake pedal assembly for a hybrid electric vehicle having a brake pedal arm and a cam follower extending from the brake pedal arm is provided. The cam follower is configured to cooperate with a stamp bracket having a cam surface to provide brake pedal feel resistance as the brake pedal arm is actuated by a user of the hybrid electric vehicle. This brake pedal feel resistance increases as the cam follower traverses along the cam surface of the stamp bracket.

Hybrid brake pedal feel system

A plug-in hydraulic body to frame mounting assembly is mounted to a conventional elastomeric body mount device to increase the control of vibration from the operation of the automotive frame to the automotive component supported thereon. The connecting member of the hydraulic mounting assembly threads onto the end of the fastener passing through the conventional elastomeric body mount device and anchors the outer can to a bridging can connected to the underside of the frame offrigger bracket to provide a true plug-n-go vibration control enhancement that can be added to any desired body mount location. The deflection of the fastener during operation of the elastomeric body mount device drives the operation of the hydraulic mounting assembly to dampen the deflection of the fastener in the elastomeric body mount corresponding to the transfer of operational loads between the body component and the offrigger bracket to which the body component is mounted.
