Embodiments of the invention utilize advanced statistical data analytics to predict and provide recommendations for root-cause analysis for service access QoE issues in networks, such as 3G/4G networks. Using FCAPS data as predictor variables, embodiments are configured to set up the problem as a predictive regression or classification problem to estimate service access QoE related indicators. Some embodiments perform training and tuning of various non-linear statistical modelling algorithms, based for example on tree and ensemble methods, using network deregistration information from RAN logs.

Method and system for prediction and root cause recommendations of service access quality of experience issues in communication networks

An inductive reader device ( ) communicates with a transponder ( ) using electromagnetic coupling. The reader device includes a transmitter ( ), a receiver ( ), a first coil element ( ), and a second coil element ( ). The first coil element is directly connected to the transmitter to emit a radio frequency excitation signal. The first coil element receives a radio frequency response signal from the transponder via electromagnetic coupling. The second coil element is directly connected to the receiver to provide a response signal to the receiver. The second coil element is loosely or inductively coupled to the first coil element via a predetermined mutual inductance due to the spatial relationship between the first coil element and the second coil element. Hence, the second coil element receives the radio frequency response signal from the first coil element. Advantageously, a signal coupler required for the receiver is integrated with an antenna element by virtue of the second coil element.

A slot antenna has independent antenna elements. A multilayer dielectric substrate has a conductive layer. A pair of coplanar elongated slots is formed in the conductive layer and configured in a substantially collinear fashion with one another. A pair of transmission lines of conductive traces is formed on the multilayer dielectric substrate coupled to a respective slot. Preferably the pair of slots is notches configured in directions opposing one another. In a further aspect of the invention an additional slot is formed in the conductive layer between the pair of the slots and an additional transmission line of a conductive trace is formed on the multilayer dielectric substrate and coupled thereto. For polarization diversity, the another slot can be configured orthogonally relative to the pair of the slots. Associated application circuitry can be disposed on the same dielectric substrate as the antenna element.
