The present invention is directed to a cover window assembly comprising a multi-layer films of polymeric and inorganic materials for a variety of articles, and the related articles and methods. The cover window assembly exhibits high resistance to strain and impact damage for the articles including display devices, particularly flexible display devices.

Cover window assembly, related articles and methods

In a first aspect, a consolidated polymer film includes a first polymer layer having a first elastic modulus, wherein the first polymer layer comprises a non-melt-processible polymer comprising a polyimide, a poly(amide-imide), a block copolymer of a polyimide or a poly(amide-imide) or a mixture thereof, and a second polymer layer having a second elastic modulus, wherein the second polymer layer comprises a polyimide, a poly(amide-imide), a block copolymer of a polyimide or a poly(amide-imide) or a mixture thereof. A minor surface of the first polymer layer is in contact with a minor surface of the second polymer layer. The first elastic modulus is different from the second elastic modulus. The first and second polymer layers are bonded by consolidation.

Consolidated polymer film

A cover window for a display includes a multilayer polymer film. The multilayer polymer film includes a first transparent, colorless polymer layer having a first elastic modulus and a second transparent, colorless polymer layer having a second elastic modulus. Each of the first and second transparent, colorless polymer layers include a polyimide, a polyamide imide, or a block copolymer of a polyimide. The polymers of both the first and second transparent, colorless polymer layers are cross-linked. The first elastic modulus is different from the second elastic modulus. The first and second transparent, colorless polymer layers are bonded by consolidation and cross-linking. The first transparent, colorless layer of the multilayer polymer film is the layer farthest from the display.

Cover windows for displays

In a first aspect, a multilayer polymer film includes a first transparent, colorless polymer layer comprising a polyimide, a polyamide imide, or a block copolymer of a polyimide and a second transparent, colorless polymer layer comprising a polyimide, a polyamide imide, or a block copolymer of a polyimide. An elastic modulus of the first transparent, colorless polymer layer is different than an elastic modulus of the second transparent, colorless polymer layer. The first and second transparent, colorless polymer layers are bonded by consolidation. In a second aspect, a cover window for a display includes the multilayer polymer film of the first aspect. The first transparent, colorless layer of the multilayer polymer film is the layer farthest from the display.

Multilayer polymer film

In a first aspect, a multilayer polymer film includes a first polymer layer having a first elastic modulus and a second polymer layer having a second elastic modulus. The first polymer layer includes a polyimide, a polyamide imide, a block copolymer of a polyimide or a polyamide imide or a mixture thereof. The second polymer layer includes a polyimide, a polyamide imide, a block copolymer of a polyimide or a polyamide imide or a mixture thereof. The first elastic modulus is different from the second elastic modulus. The first and second polymer layers are bonded by consolidation. In a second aspect, a cover window for a display includes a hard coat layer and the multilayer polymer film of the first aspect. The first polymer layer of the multilayer polymer film is the layer farthest from the display and is adhered to the hard coat layer.

This invention provides gloves and socks containing printed heaters. The glove or sock with a heater comprises a glove or sock, a substrate with the outline of the glove or sock, and a heater printed on the substrate wherein the substrate is laminated to the glove or sock. The heater comprises two printed conductive bus bars with extensions traversing the substrate and an array of printed resistive areas arranged so that each area is between and overlaps and is contiguous to two conductors, one of which is one of the bus bars or its extensions and the second is the other bus bar or its extensions.

Hand and foot heaters

This invention is related to electrical connections in wearable garments and other articles that enable the transfer of electrical signals or electrical power from one site in the garment or article to another site on the garment or article by the use of an electrical conductor printed along the length of a sewable substrate which bridges the two sites.

Electrical connections for wearables and other articles

A tire comprising an overlay ply wherein (i) the shoulder section of the overlay comprises an elastomer and short polymeric or non-polymeric reinforcing fibers present in an amount of from 0.1 to 10 parts fiber per hundred parts of elastomer, the short fibers having a tenacity of at least 2 grams per dtex, a modulus of at least 10 grams per dtex and a length of from 0.1 to 8 mm and wherein the fibers are aligned substantially parallel to each other in a controlled angle of orientation within the overlay wherein the orientation is selected such that it decreases tire noise, and (ii) the section of overlay in the crown of the tire comprising cords of continuous filament polymeric fibers or continuous strands of metal or combinations thereof, the cords being aligned in a circumferential direction around the tire.

Tire overlay composition

A pneumatic tire comprises an overlay wherein the overlay is positioned above the belt plies but beneath the tread, and at least one overlay end is folded and extends inwards toward the center line of the tire.

Tire containing noise reducing fibrous layers

This invention pertains to a tire comprising at least one carcass ply and at least one breaker ply, the carcass and breaker plies each comprising continuous filaments having a tenacity of at least 15 grams force per dtex and a modulus of at least 400 grams force per dtex wherein the carcass ply turn-ups terminate under the at least one breaker ply. The invention further pertains to a tire comprising a plurality of apex components and carcass ply turn-ups that terminate within the apex region of the tire. The invention also discloses a tire wherein the carcass ply turn-ups terminate in the upper sidewall region of the tire and ply spacers are located between ply-turn-ups.

Pneumatic tire

This invention pertains to an umbilical hose comprising in order a thermoplastic inner liner, at least one fibrous reinforcement layer having a layer thickness no greater than 1.5 mm, comprising continuous filament yarns having a yarn tenacity of at least 13 g/dtex and a linear density no greater than 6667 dtex, and a thermoplastic outer cover.

Multilayer reinforced hose

A hybrid cord formed from a plurality of component plies wherein at least two of the plies are of unequal ply length regardless of the twist of the plies and at least one of the plies has a length that is from 1 to 50 percent longer than the other plies and a method of providing a cord with predetermined twist and component ply lengths.

Unbalanced hybrid cords and methods for making on cable cording machines

A multilayer hose comprising in order, (i) a thermoplastic inner liner, (ii) at least one first fibrous reinforcement layer comprising continuous filament yarns having a yarn tenacity of at least 13 grams per dtex, (iii) at least one second fibrous reinforcement layer comprising continuous filament yarns having a yarn tenacity of at least 13 grams per dtex, and (iv) a thermoplastic outer cover wherein the continuous filament yarns of the at least one second fibrous reinforcement layer have a yarn modulus greater than the yarn modulus of the continuous filament yarns of the at least one first fibrous reinforcement.

A flexible, self-adhering stretchable material with improved stretch and recovery properties is provided as a flashing for use in building openings such as windows. The material includes a microcreped topsheet and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. The material extends to the desired length at a low applied force and recovers a low to moderate amount, making it particularly suited for use in the lower corners of window openings.
