High temperature probes and methods for assembling high temperature probes are disclosed. The high temperature probes may include a rod with a thermocouple embedded within the rod, and a ceramic matrix composite sheath substantially surrounding the rod. The high temperature probes may also include an outer metal tube surrounding a portion of the rod, and an inner metal tube positioned between the alumina rod and the outer metal tube, the inner metal tube being configured to prevent the rod from spatial displacement with respect to the outer metal tube.

High temperature probe

Total air temperature (TAT) measurement systems, apparatus, and methods for measuring TAT within an airflow are disclosed. A TAT within an airflow may be measured by (1) positioning a probe within an airflow, the probe including an airfoil and a wedge defining a single channel, the single channel including a temperature sensor; (2) receiving a portion of the airflow through the single channel; and (3) determining TAT for the received portion of the airflow using measurements from the temperature sensor.

Apparatus and method for measuring total air temperature within an airflow

An air data sensor that determines a body's angle of attack, static air pressure, total air pressure, mach number, static air temperature and true air speed in one device using pressure and temperature readings. The air data sensor includes a probe that protrudes into an airflow to collect data, a base plate for attaching the probe to a body, and an electronics housing including electronics for interpreting the data collected from the probe.

Multi-function air data sensor

A pressure-sensing device and method for making and using such device having a temperature differential between two portions of the device is disclosed. A solid-state heat pump, such as a thermo-electric cooler (TEC), is used to pump heat from a cold portion to a hot portion of the device. A pressure sensor sensing the pressure of a hot fluid is disposed in the hot portion of the device, and sensor electronics are disposed in the cold portion of the device.
