A method and system for environmental control in film processing is disclosed. In general, photographic film is coated with a processing solution, such as a developer solution, and is then developed within a controlled air environment. In the preferred embodiments, the temperature and humidity within the air environment is strictly controlled, which allows the development process to be more accurately and consistently controlled. This also allows fewer processing chemicals to be used and reduces harmful effluents caused by photographic film processing.

Method and system for environmental control during film processing

An apparatus and method for detecting seating of a medium on a media tray includes a conductive element having a first terminal and a second terminal and forming an interrupted circuit between the first terminal and the second terminal; and a spindle structurally supporting and integral with the conductive element, the spindle adapted to receive an edge of the medium, the medium causing completion of a conductive pathway of the interrupted circuit between the first and second terminal when seated upon the spindle. A plurality of switches is coupled to the outer circumference of the spindle and a tray with a circular medium receiving area mechanically and electrically coupled to the spindle and the circuit, with the plurality of switches engaged in operative relation to movable members coupled to the outer circumference of the spindle. Another apparatus and method includes a conductive element incorporated into a media tray having a first terminal and a second terminal integral with the media tray. The apparatus includes a plurality of switches coupled to the receiving area of the media try that engage in operative relation to movable members coupled to the receiving are of the media tray.

A portable computer includes a media module having a support surface. A drive base is movable relative to the support surface. A spindle includes an automatically actuatable clamp device mounted on the drive base. A triggering device is mounted in the spindle and includes a reciprocating member and a rotating cam member, so that movement of the drive base adjacent the support surface moves the reciprocating member to rotate the cam member and actuate the clamp device.

An apparatus and method is provided for installing and connecting one or more expansion boards in a computer system while the computer system is being manufactured as well as when a user upgrades or reconfigures the computer system. An expansion board bay for receiving the expansion board is located within the computer system, typically on a circuit board such as the motherboard. A connector module that is separate from the expansion board and the expansion board bay is positioned within the computer system. The connector module is positioned to provide easy external access to a contact portion of the connector module, thereby allowing a user to connect an external data signal line to the connector module. A connector cable operably connects the expansion board with the connector module to establish communication between the data processor and the external data line through the expansion board.
