An outside mirror lighting assembly () and method includes a housing () and a first glass panel () where one or more light-emitting devices () are positioned at an edge of the first glass panel (). Light rays from the at least one light-emitting device () propagate within the glass panel for illuminating its outer periphery. Words, logos, or other indicia () may be also be illuminated by direct or indirect light emitted into an etched area of the glass. The mirror assembly supplies a soft illuminated glow around the outer periphery and/or the indicia for providing a unique and pleasing appearance to the user.

Outside mirror lighting assembly and method of forming same

A vehicular mirror assembly () includes a first bezel () for housing an electrochromic (EC) glass element and a second bezel () for housing a spotter glass () element. A spotter glass heating element () is positioned behind the spotter glass element () for heating the spotter glass () above an ambient temperature.
