An electrical connector system ( ) is disclosed that includes a plurality of modular components. The modular components can include a receptacle housing ( ), a socket insert ( ), a socket electrical contact ( ), a grounding spring ( ).The system includes matching orientation indicia on the polarization keys ( ) and housing windows ( ) for viewing the indicia. The coupler ( ) is slidably mounted on the plug assembly and include cam slots for causing mating and retraction of the plug ( ) and receptacle ( ) and also includes open position and engaged position indicator strips ( ). The system may include grounding springs ( ) for engaging the mounting panel and may be used with various types of backshells ( ) including shield wire termination types.

Electrical connector

A coaxial connector is provided which can be used in cable systems which transmit telephone and internet service in addition to traditional cable television service. The coaxial connector comprises a housing which can consist of one or several components having a central bore therethrough and a one or multiple piece insulator arranged in the central bore in the housing. The coaxial connector also includes a female center contact member which is arranged in the hollow interior of the insulator. The female contact member comprises an outer surface which defines an open mating end which is adapted to receive the center conductor pin of a mating male connector and includes a pair of double bellows spring portions which extend inwardly from the outer surface. A pair of raised bumps are arranged on the contact surface of each double bellows spring portion in order to focus the contact force provided by the double bellows spring portions.

An improved electrical connector for use in electronic assemblies to link electronic components in order to transmit electric signals or current. The connector includes a wafer interface connective construction with at least one resiliently compressible contact to provide a means across which electrical current can flow from one male pin to another male pin without placing the pins in direct contact with each other. The contact retains its form and resiliency through its non-compressive retainment within the aperture of the wafer interface connective construction. Engagement and disengagement of the connector is facilitated, yet reliability and conductivity are enhanced. Further, the size and weight of the connector is reduced, and the assembly of the connector is facilitated. In addition, the pin contacts and the retainment components for the pin contacts are common to both halves of the connector which eliminates the need for socket contacts and their associated components.
