Provided, among other things, is a method of treating cerebral spinal fluid comprising: (a) utilizing a channel of a pump to draw CSF from a subject's subarachnoid space of the subject's brain or spinal column; (b) subjecting the drawn CSF to membrane dialysis against a dialysate fluid to reduce immune or inflammatory mediators; and (c) utilizing a second channel of the synchronized dual channel pump to return the dialyzed CSF to the subarachnoid space of the subject's brain or spinal column. For example, the pump can be a synchronized dual channel pump. In one embodiment, the method further comprises: (d) removing cellular matter from the CSF to produce reduced cell content CSF, wherein the reduced cell content CSF is subjected to membrane dialysis.

Cerebrospinal fluid treatment

An advertising and promotion system including an electronic shopping cart display screen that provides wireless in-store advertising and promotions. In embodiments of the present invention, the advertising and promotion system includes a display unit attached to a shopping cart, a plurality of store-wide transceiver units, an audible alert component on the display unit for signaling receipt of information from the transceiver unit, a host computer for operating the advertising and promotion system, and a battery charger for powering the display unit. The display unit includes a liquid crystal display ('LCD') panel for displaying animated graphic advertisements and other visual messages automatically exhibited in the proximity of a transceiver unit by a desired product display. The display unit may be interactive (i.e., capable of responding to user information requests and directions) or passive (i.e., only requiring the shopper to push the cart down the aisle where it will automatically receive a signal and alert the shopper to promotions and advertised specials).

An electronic paperless couponing system in which a store provides shoppers with an electronic communications device having a display screen for display of a graphic of a redemption coupon that represents a discount for an item in the store available for purchase. The communication device has a selection button to enter the selection of the coupon indicating the user's desire to redeem the coupon and a memory to record the selection until the shopper reaches the checkout counter and deducted from the purchases when it is determined that the item subject to the discount has been purchased.
