The present invention relates to a personal care composition with a synthetic random copolymer having a net positive charge, a detersive surfactant; and an aqueous carrier.

Personal care compositions containing cationic synthetic copolymer and a detersive surfactant

Personal care compositions comprise (a) from about 0.01 wt. % to about 10 wt. % of a galactomannan polymer derivative having a mannose to galactose ratio of greater than 2:1 on a monomer to monomer basis, the galactomannan polymer derivative selected from a cationic galactomannan polymer derivative and an amphoteric galactomannan polymer derivative having a net positive charge, wherein the cationic galactomannan polymer has a molecular weight from about 1,000 to about 10,000,000 and a cationic charge density from about 0.7 meq/g to about 7 meq/g; (b) from about 5 wt. % to about 35 wt. % of an anionic surfactant system, the anionic surfactant system comprising at least one anionic surfactant and having an ethoxylate level and an anion level, (i) wherein the ethoxylate level is from about 1 to about 6, and (ii) wherein the anion level is from about 1.5 to about 6; and (c) an aqueous carrier. Personal care compositions as described above further comprise from about 0.01 wt. % to about 10 wt. % of one or more conditioning agents. Methods of treating hair or skin comprise applying the personal care compositions as described above to the hair or skin and rinsing the hair or skin.

Personal care composition containing a non-guar galactomannan polymer derivative and an anionic surfactant system

The present invention relates to a personal care composition and methods of using the same, the composition including an anionic surfactant, a cationic conditioning polymer, and a silicone emulsion wherein a total content of a cyclic polysiloxane having a general formula: is present in the silicone emulsion in an amount less than 2.5 wt % based on the total weight of all polysiloxanes, R is a substituted or unsubstituted Cto Calkyl or aryl, wherein m is 4 or 5, wherein the composition forms coacervate particles upon dilution with water, and wherein a percentage of the coacervate particles with a floc size of greater than about 20 micron is from about 1% to about 60% upon dilution with water.

The present invention relates to a stable, aqueous wrinkle controlling and, optionally, odor-absorbing, composition, preferably for use on fabric. The composition preferably comprises fabric lubricant, shape retention polymer, lithium salts, and/or plasticizers for wrinkle control and, optionally, from about 0.1% to about 20%, by weight of the composition, of solubilized, water-soluble, uncomplexed cyclodextrin. Optionally, the composition can contain low molecular weight polyols; metallic salts to help control odor; nonionic surfactants to improve performance and formulatability, a humectant, etc. The composition is essentially free of any material that would soil or stain fabric. The composition is preferably applied as small particle size droplets, especially from spray containers which preferably are in association with instructions for use, especially when the composition comprises only water and perfume.

Fabric wrinkle control composition and method

Disclosed are topical leave-on cosmetic compositions, including packaged leave-on compositions, for direct application to the scalp, comprising a) from about 40% to about 99% by weight of a volatile liquid, b) from about 0.005% to about 20% by weight of a skin active agent, and c) from about 0.1% to about 20% by weight of a moisturizing material, preferably a liquid humectant. The composition is a leave-on formulation that is substantially free of cleansing surfactants and is applied directly to the scalp. Also disclosed are methods of treating the scalp by directly applying the topical composition to the scalp. It has been found that the compositions and methods of the present invention can provide improved scalp moisturization and improved deposition of an anti-dandruff or other skin active agent on the skin, without unduly affecting hair cosmetics.

The present invention relates to a stable, aqueous odor-absorbing and wrinkle controlling composition, preferably for use on inanimate surfaces, especially fabrics. The composition comprises from about 0.1% to about 20%, by weight of the composition, of solubilized, water-soluble, uncomplexed cyclodextrin and an effective amount of at least one ingredient to improve the performance of the composition selected from the group consisting of: (1) cyclodextrin compatible surfactant; (2) cyclodextrin compatible antimicrobial active; and (3) mixtures thereof. The composition also comprises a wrinkle control agent which is fabric lubricant, shape retention polymer, hydrophilic plasticizer, lithium salt, or mixtures thereof. Hydrophilic perfume improves acceptance. Optionally, the composition can contain low molecular weight polyols; metallic salts to help control odor; a humectant, etc. The composition is essentially free of any material that would soil or stain fabric. The composition is preferably applied as small particle size droplets, especially from spray containers. The cyclodextrin/surfactant combination, either alone, or in combination with the other ingredients, provides improved antimicrobial activity.

Hair styling compositions containing non-silicone and silicone grafted polymers and low level of a volatile hydration solvent

A concentrated reduced dosage spray pump delivery system for dispensing fluids containing actives and volatile organic compounds with reduced emissions of the volatile organic compounds is disclosed. The system includes a housing storing a concentrated fluid containing volatile organic compounds and an effective component, wherein the effective component is concentrated within the fluid. The system also includes a spray pump in fluid communication with the concentrated fluid containing the volatile organic compounds such that the spray pump dispenses the concentrated fluid at a reduced dosage per pump stroke. The combination of the concentrated fluid containing volatile organic compounds and the reduced dosage per pump stroke reduces the emission of volatile organic compounds, while the quantity of actives applied per square area of application surface substantially remains the same.
