An electrical device having a bus side and a load side is provided. The electrical device includes a plurality of conductive line terminals disposed on the bus side of said electrical device, and a plurality of electrical connectors. Each electrical connector of the plurality of electrical connectors includes a first end coupled to a respective line terminal of the plurality of line terminals, a second end distal from the first end, and a connector clip disposed at the second end. Each connector clip is configured to engage a bus bar to electrically couple the electrical device to the bus bar, and includes a first contact segment and a second contact segment spaced apart from the first contact segment. The first and second contact segments are configured to deflect towards one another from a relaxed position to a depressed position when inserted into a connector channel defined by the bus bar.

Electrical device, electrical distribution system, and methods of assembling same

An electrical distribution system includes a housing coupled to a bus bar assembly. The bus bar assembly includes a plurality of bus bars and a plurality of insulators. The housing includes a rear wall defining a plurality of ports and a plurality of notches, and a plurality of sidewalls extending from the rear wall to a front of the housing, the rear wall and the plurality of sidewalls defining an interior space of the housing, the plurality of sidewalls cooperatively defining an opening opposite the rear wall, the plurality of bus bars aligned with the plurality of ports, and the plurality of insulators received in the plurality of notches. The system further includes a neutral connector, and a conductor electrically coupling the neutral connector to a bus bar of the plurality of bus bars through a port of the plurality of ports.

Electrical distribution system and methods of assembling same

An electrical distribution system is provided. The system includes a bus bar assembly including a neutral bus bar and a plurality of power bus bars. The system further includes a circuit breaker including a first end and a second end opposite the first end, the first end including a plurality of first conductive terminals electrically coupled to respective power bus bars, the second end including a plurality of second conductive terminals located a first distance from the plurality of power bus bars. The system further includes a neutral connection device including a first conductive terminal electrically coupled to the neutral bus bar, a second conductive terminal, and a conductive component, the neutral connection device second conductive terminal located a second distance from the neutral bus bar, the second distance one of greater than the first distance and equal to the first distance.

Electrical distribution system including neutral connection device and methods of assembling same

An electrical device includes a power connector coupleable to a cable. The power connector defines an interior space and a cable opening, the power connector arranged to receive the cable into the interior space through the cable opening. The electrical device further includes a barrier arranged to at least partially cover the cable opening, said barrier comprising an inner collar and an outer collar, each of said inner collar and said outer collar arranged to receive at least a portion of the cable therethrough, wherein said outer collar circumscribes said inner collar.

Electrical distribution apparatus including barrier and methods of assembling same

An electrical distribution apparatus includes a power connector for coupling to a cable. The power connector includes a first end and a second end each defining an opening arranged to receive the cable. A barrier is removably coupled to a portion of the electrical distribution apparatus and selectively adjustable between a first position and a second position, the barrier arranged to prevent insertion of the cable into the first end opening and to permit insertion of the cable into the second end opening when the barrier is in the first position, the barrier arranged to prevent insertion of the cable into the second end opening and to permit insertion of the cable into the first end opening when the barrier is in the second position.

An electrical distribution apparatus is provided. The electrical distribution apparatus includes a stacked bus bar assembly including a plurality of bus bars. Each bus bar includes a first plate, a second plate spaced from the first plate in a first direction, and an intermediate member disposed between and interconnecting the first plate and the second plate. At least one of the first plate and said second plate is constructed of an electrically conductive material.

Electrical distribution apparatus, system, and methods of assembling same

An electrical device includes a power connector coupleable to a cable. The power connector includes a body defining a first opening and an interior space. The power connector is arranged to receive the cable into the interior space through the first opening. The electrical device also includes a barrier coupled to the power connector to at least partially cover the first opening. The barrier includes a wall defining a second opening. The wall contacts the body. The second opening is arranged to receive the cable therein when the cable is coupled to the power connector.

An electrical device includes a case defining an interior space. The case includes a sidewall and a cover. The sidewall defines an opening therethrough to provide access to the interior space. The electrical device also includes a power connector coupled to the case and disposed at least partially within the interior space. The power connector is coupleable to a cable extending through the opening into the interior space of the case. The electrical device further includes a shield removably coupleable to the case. The shield includes an engagement feature and a wall. The engagement feature is arranged to engage the case. The wall is arranged to at least partially cover the opening when the shield is coupled to the case such that the wall and the cable are spaced apart a distance that is less than a width of the opening when the cable is coupled to the power connector.

An electrical switching apparatus for housing a pair of opposing circuit breakers includes a panelboard having a first longitudinal axis and configured to support the pair of opposing circuit breakers to define a gap therebetween, the gap having a second longitudinal axis extending generally parallel to the first longitudinal axis. An insulative barrier is arranged to define a plenum region having a third longitudinal axis, and is operatively disposed in the gap, wherein the third longitudinal axis extends generally parallel to said second longitudinal axis.

An electrical switching apparatus for housing a pair of opposing circuit breakers each circuit breaker of the pair of opposing circuit breakers having an opposing end face including an exhaust vent disposed thereon is disclosed. The electrical switching apparatus includes a panelboard to operatively support the pair of opposing circuit breakers to define a gap therebetween, and an insulative barrier to be operatively disposed in the gap. The insulative barrier includes a first cantilever wall member arrangeable to define a first plenum region having a first cross sectional area, and a second plenum region having a second cross sectional area. The insulative barrier is operative to deflect in a first direction to thereby increase one of the first and second cross sectional areas in response to a venting of ionized gases from one circuit breaker of the pair of circuit breakers.

An adjustable busway joint for coupling two longitudinally aligned busway sections is disclosed. The adjustable joint has a first plurality of electrically conductive splice plates defining a splice plate adjustment slot, and a second plurality of electrically conductive splice plates defining an aperture, wherein each splice plate of the second plurality of splice plates is disposed to overlap a portion of a corresponding splice plate of the first plurality of splice plates to form an electrical joint, and wherein the aperture is sized and disposed to overlap at least a portion of the first splice plate adjustment slot. The joint additionally has a first clamping member disposed through the splice plate adjustment slot and the aperture such that the first and said second pluralities of splice plates are operably movable with respect each other between a first compressed position and a second extended position.

Adjustable electrical busway joint

An electrical power distribution system is described. The system includes a ground busbar including a first opening defined therein and a busway housing including a second opening defined therein. The system also includes a fastener sealing system that includes a fastener and at least one seal. The fastener is configured to extend through the first opening and the second opening and to couple the ground busbar to the busway housing. The ground busbar contacts the busway housing, forming a ground connection therebetween.

Methods and systems for coupling busway components

An adjustable length busway joint for coupling a first and a second busway section, the first and second busway sections being longitudinally offset, is disclosed. The busway joint includes a first plurality of splice plates and a second plurality of splice plates disposed to overlap to form an electrical joint. The first and said second pluralities of splice plates are arranged for a longitudinal movement with respect each other between a first compressed position and a second extended position. The busway joint further includes a third plurality of splice plates. Each splice plate of the second plurality of splice plates overlaps a portion of a corresponding splice plate of the third plurality of splice plates to form an electrical joint. The third and second pluralities of splice plates are arranged for a longitudinal movement with respect each other between a third compressed position and a fourth extended position.

A mounting module for a DC distribution assembly is provided. The module includes a base portion that holds at least first and second electrically conductive straps thereon. The straps are disposed on and coupled to the electrically non-conductive base portion. The module further includes a first breaker pole assembly having a first line side electrically coupled to the first electrically conductive strap. The mounting module further includes a second breaker pole assembly having a second line side electrically coupled to the second electrically conductive strap.
