The present invention relates to COcapture from gas mixtures by use of gas separation membranes. In particular, the invention relates to a gas separation membrane comprising: a gas permeable or porous support layer; and at least one COselective polymer layer comprising carbonic anhydrase (CA) enzymes fixed within the at least one COselective polymer layer. The present invention also relates to the method of separating COfrom a gas and to the use of the gas separation membrane.

Hybrid polymer membrane

The present invention relates to a COselective gas separation membrane and a method for preparing the gas separation membrane and the use thereof. The COselective gas separation membrane comprises a gas permeable or porous support layer; and at least one gas permeable polymer layer, which is surface modified with polymer chains having COphilic groups, wherein the gas permeable polymer layer has a spatially controlled distribution of the COphilic groups on the surface thereof. The method of preparing the COselective gas separation membrane, comprises the steps of: depositing at least one gas permeable polymer layer on a porous or gas permeable support layer to form a dense membrane, and surface modifying the dense membrane with polymer chains having COphilic groups, to obtain spatially controlled distribution of the COphilic groups on the surface thereof.

Surface modified membranes for gas separation, and a method for preparing thereof

A membrane suitable for separating a gas from a gas mixture comprising a non cross-linked PVAm having a molecular weight of at least Mw 100,000 carried on a support wherein after casting onto the support, said PVAm has been heated to a temperature in the range 50 to 150&#xb0; C., e.g. 80 to 120&#xb0; C.
