Ground bus for junction box

The present invention is related to a network interface device 10 and a network interface module 50 for mounting therein. The network interface device 10 features two covers 12, 32. The first cover 32 restricts access to the service provider section of the device, and the second cover 12 covers both the service provider section 24 and the subscriber section 22. The network interface module 50 is profiled to span between the subscriber section 22 and the service provider section 24 so as to eliminate the need for separate components in each section.

Network interface device

The invention comprises an interconnection system having an assembly with a base member and a silo. The silo has an upper contact receiving passageway and a lower contact receiving passageway. The silo is slidably mounted onto the base and reciprocally movable in a linear manner between an unterminated position and a terminated position. A pair of U-shaped terminals securable in the base to be received within the silo upon assembly of the silo to the base. Each of the terminals include a base section and a pair of legs extending normally therefrom to define the U-shape. The legs include aligned wire receiving openings and aligned IDC termination slots extending from the openings. A third IDC termination slot is formed along a top of the terminal. The bottom passageway of the silo is aligned with the wire receiving openings and the upper passageway is above the third IDC termination slot when the silo is in the unterminated position. The bottom passageway of the silo is aligned with the aligned IDC termination slots and the upper passageway is aligned with the third IDC termination slot when the silo is in the terminated position.

Cross connect terminal block

A cross-connection assembly (10) including a plurality of cross-connection sites (14) provided by housing modules (30) secured to a base frame (12). Each site (14) is defined by a silo (52) containing a first terminal (60) and an actuator (120) secured thereatop rotatable to terminate a first wire (112) to the first terminal. At a selected site, a second terminal (160) is mountable to the actuator (120) thereat to electrically engage the first terminal, and a corresponding cap (190) over the second terminal is initially rotatable with respect to actuator (120) in order to terminate a second wire (220) at the site. Upon the first rotation the cap becomes locked to the actuator, providing that later rotation of the cap also moves the actuator and second terminal and second wire of necessity to permit untermination and retermination of the first wire (112) with respect to the first terminal (60).
