A method, system, and program product for implementing an automated query filtering process for spatial data is provided. The method includes selecting a set of common depth levels for geohash structures. Data indicating results of the selection is stored and a specified depth level of the set of common geohash depth levels is selected. The selected geohash depth level is associated with a spatial column for spatial data to determine a set of geohash depth levels required to generate geohash values. A filter table or index associated with the spatial column is generated based on the selected subset of common geohash depth levels and a relationship between the spatial column, the specified geohash depth level and the filter table is stored within a database. Geohash values for the filter table are generated and a query of the database is executed with respect to the specified geohash depth level, the filter entries, and the filter table.

Automated database query filtering for spatial joins

A method for generating database queries from declarative queries having a known syntax. The method includes a query preparation software receiving a declarative query in a known system form. The query preparation software then analyzes the declarative query to build a set of generic query tasks with identified data types. The query preparation software then optimizes the set of generic query tasks and builds a target database query from the optimized generic query tasks reflecting features of a target database. The method further includes the query preparation software submitting the target database query to the target database.

Generating SQL queries from declarative queries for semi-structured data

A method, computer program product, and computer system for optimizing query processing is provided. An asynchronously updated index is provided for a main dataset. A time-sequences log of data modifications to the main dataset is provided. A query of the main dataset is received. The main dataset is joined with the time-sequenced log data resulting in a first intermediate result. The query is processed by keeping one or more entries satisfying the query by emulating a function of the asynchronously updated index resulting in a second intermediate result. Updated, deleted dataset entries are deleted from the asynchronously updated index. The query is processed resulting in a third intermediate result. A union of the second intermediate result and third intermediate result is built defining a final result.

Preventing staleness in query results when using asynchronously updated indexes

Provided are techniques for populating a new text index. In response to determining that a limit for indexing a set of documents to the new text index has been reached, a commit is performed, a restart key is updated to identify a next document to be indexed, and the next document is indexed in a next commit cycle.

Populating text indexes

Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, implementing and using techniques for integrating and data activities in a process flow. A data transformation activity is invoked through local or remote invocation. The data transformation activity is part of a process flow defined in a standard business process execution language format and is invoked from within the process flow. A system for executing a process flow including one or more control activities and one or more data transformation activities is also described. The system includes a process control engine for executing activities included in the process flow, a data transformation subsystem for storing domain specific definitions of data transformation processes of data in one or more databases, and a control data repository for storing domain specific activity information related to the process flow.

Supporting ETL processing in BPEL-based processes

Methods, computer program products, and system for managing a parameter of an application are provided. In one implementation, the method includes identifying a plurality of phases associated with the application, in which each phase corresponds to a time period during a lifecycle of the application. The method further includes defining a range of phases among the plurality of phases associated with the application during which a value of the parameter can be changed.

Generating Business Process Execution Language ('BPEL') control flows to populate a data warehouse for analysis of data of an operational system including identifying source tables in the operational system and one or more corresponding target tables in the data warehouse; creating BPEL steps to represent links between each source table in the operational system and each corresponding target table in the data warehouse; determining a sequence for the BPEL step; and adding the BPEL steps to a BPEL control flow according to the determined sequence.

Generating BPEL control flows

A method, system and computer program product for enabling completion of purchase transactions by retrieving purchase card information from an electronic database of consumer cards and applying the appropriate card to the transaction. The database, managed by a central card authority, stores client account information for cards such as debit, credit, phone, and discount cards, which are accessible via a unique, secure login/access credential, such as a username and password combination. During registration with the central card authority, a client classifies key/important factors to consider when performing purchases. The central card authority is accessed by the client during purchases from a retail facility and/or other purchasing environment. The central card authority automatically selects the best card to utilize during a purchase, after weighing the important purchasing factors related to the credit, debit, phone, and discount cards registered with the central card authority.

A full-text search index for a table stored in a set of partitions of a database is refreshed. At a first point in time, table row distribution information and a table partitioning list are captured. At a second point in time, it is determined that an index refresh operation is to be performed. The captured table row distribution information is compared with current table row distribution information to determine whether there is at least one difference. In response to the determining that there is at least one difference, a text index distribution is re-aligned for any table rows that are affected by the change in table data row distribution by: generating a new table partitioning list, and indexing documents associated with table data rows that moved from one partition in the captured table partitioning list to another partition in the new table partitioning list.

A method, computer program product, and system for analyzing data using a data warehouse application are provided. The method, computer program product, and system provide for displaying a facet in a user interface of the data warehouse application, the facet classifying a plurality of documents, and displaying a facet attribute of the facet in the user interface of the data warehouse application, the facet attribute corresponding to a characteristic associated with each of the plurality of documents classified by the facet.

Data analysis using facet attributes

A method of automatic replication setup is disclosed. The method allows the business application user to focus on the requirements posed by the business application and to abstract from the low level infrastructure details. Information specific to the databases and infrastructure design decisions can be provided by a subject matter expert. By automating the requirements analysis and infrastructure setup process, the time to deliver can be decreased significantly and the potential for errors reduced.
