A control circuit is for an electric power plant including an asynchronous generator of an AC voltage, a motor to rotate a rotor of the asynchronous generator as a function of a first control signal of a developed motor torque, and a bank of capacitors coupled to the asynchronous generator and having a total capacitance varying as function of a second control signal. The control circuit may include a monitor circuit to monitor at least one parameter of the AC voltage, and a control signal generator circuit cooperating with the monitor circuit to generate the first and second control signals by soft-computing techniques both as a function of the frequency and of a representative value of an amplitude of the AC voltage to make the AC voltage have a desired amplitude and frequency.

An injection control method for controlling a 'common rail' fuel injection system in a diesel engine is described. The method includes the following steps: an initializing step for acquiring engine control parameters; and a main adjustment cycle for adjusting operational variables of the engine. The injection control method also includes an interrupting step for adjusting an injection procedure proper of the injection system by variation of all the characteristic parameters of the injection procedure. Also described is an injection control system for a diesel engine based on the above method.

The system can be used for the automatic analysis of images, including a matrix of spots, such as images of DNA microarrays after hybridization. The system can be associated&#x2014;and preferably integrated in a single monolithic component implementing VLSI CMOS technology&#x2014;to a sensor for acquiring the images. The system includes a circuit for processing the signals corresponding to the images, configured according to a cellular neural network (CNN) architecture for the parallel analogue processing of signals.

A Common Rail injection system of an endothermic engine, the injection system including at least one fuel pressure accumulating tank, of the rail type, having an input in fluid communication with a high-pressure pump and a plurality of outputs for feeding corresponding injectors by using pressure regulating means connected and depending on an electronic control unit. Advantageously a virtual pressure sensor includes a fluid-dynamic model of the accumulating tank suitable to estimate and to obtain fluid pressure values used by the electronic control unit for driving the injection means of the Common Rail injection system.

Also included within the same integrated circuit are a microprocessor, a volatile memory unit, and an arbiter block linked to a bus interconnecting the fuzzy microcontroller, the microprocessor, and the volatile memory unit. The arbiter block controls access to the memory unit by the microprocessor or the fuzzy microcontroller. An additional fuzzy co-processor may be connected between the fuzzy microcontroller and the microprocessor for performing the fuzzy logic operations.
