A cable clamp includes a housing having a cavity therein with two opposed walls and an open end in communication with the cavity. A pair of wedge shaped jaws are located within the housing and are slideably movable toward and away from the opening. Each of the jaws includes a semi-cylindrical gripping surface which are adapted to move toward each other to grip a cable therebetween when the jaws move toward the opening and are able to move away from each other when the jaws move away from the opening so as to release a cable located therebetween. A spring biases the jaws toward the opening so that they are biased into the gripping position. In order to more positively hold the cable, each of the gripping surfaces includes a plurality of teeth in the form of raised segments of spiral threads. Some of the spiral threads on each of said inserts are right handed and some are left handed to help prevent rotating movement of the cable as it is being gripped. The clamp can be used as a dead end clamp or the housing can contain a second pair of jaws, preferably extending in opposite directions, whereby the clamp is capable of gripping a second cable for electrically and mechanically connecting two cables together.

Cable connector

A dead end connector comprising an elongated base with a channel extending along the length thereof, a cover with a second channel, and bolts for securing the two units together so that the channels form a bore through which a fiber optic cable is received, where each of the channels has at least one hardened steel insert with inner teeth which grip the cable and outer teeth which grip the base or cover. A vibration damper may be formed as part of the connector or as a separate piece which is attached to the connector.

An electrical connector includes a first jaw member 12 that has an inside surface, an outside surface, a first end 16 and a second end 18. The first jaw member further has a curved portion 24 formed on the inside surface adjacent the first end and a plurality of spaced apart pairs of fingers 28, 30 and 32 extending inwardly from the second end. A second jaw member 14 has an inside surface, an outside surface, a first end 20 and a second end 22. The second jaw member also has a curved portion 26 formed on the inside surface adjacent the first end and spaced apart finger pairs 36 and 38 extending inwardly from the second end. A terminal in the form of a stirrup 40 is secured between the second ends of the first and second jaw members. The stirrup has a gap 50 formed therethrough. Projecting from the second end of the first jaw member is a stop member 34. The stop member is positioned between the gap in the stirrup in order to prevent axial movement of the same along the electrical connector. The free ends of the finger pairs are swaged about a portion of the stirrup 40.

Hinged electrical connector

A grounding clamp for securing an electrical device to a riser pipe comprises a substantially C-shaped resilient inner segment. The inner segment has an inside surface, an outside surface, a first end and a second end. A grounding cable, which is in electrical contact with the inner segment, extends therefrom. A cam compresses the inside surface of the inner segment around the circumference of the pipe.

Grounding clamp

Improvements and modifications to an electrical grid interconnector initially adapted for electrically and mechanically interconnecting conductors in parallel which improvements and modifications permit the electrical connector to additionally connect the two conductors in perpendicular relationship. The connector includes a C-shaped clamp body member which has a lower surface, a flat back surface and a downwardly curved upper surface. A wedge member, moved by screw means relative to the body member, works against the lower surface of the C-shaped clamp member. A slot is provided in the clamp body member extending from the lower surface thereof upwardly through the rear wall and curved top wall thereof. Alternate conductor interface inserts are provided which are positioned between the two conductors to be interconnected. The first insert includes parallel conductor engaging upper and lower surfaces and the second insert includes perpendicular upper and lower conductor engaging surfaces thus permitting the conductors to be interconnected in parallel when the conductors run parallel to the clamp body member by use of the first interface insert and to be interconnected perpendicular to one another with one of the conductors extending through the conductor slot when the second interface insert is utilized.

Electrical grid interconnector

A connecting device for electrically and mechanically joining two conductors positioned substantially perpendicular having improvements allowing for easier and safer installation. The connector includes a C-shaped body member and a wedge assembly. The C-shaped body member has two spaced apart fingers hooked to engage one conductor and a yoke section which joins the fingers and is contoured to engage another conductor. The wedge assembly provides the separating and securing means to the conductors and is comprised of two parts. The wedge assembly is comprised of a wedge shaped section and a T-shaped section that are mechanically engaged by use of interacting parts involving the incline of the wedge and the vertical portion of the 'T'. Each member of the wedge assembly has an independent contoured surface which engages one of the transversing conductors. The wedge assembly functions separately from and unconnected to the body member when installed between the conductors. The T-shaped member and wedge-shaped member are dependently connected via a bolt which upon tightening causes relative motion between the members up and along the wedge incline until a rigid and locked position is established.

Grid connector

An electrical connector is disclosed which is particularly adapted to electrically and mechanically connect a transmission conductor to a distribution conductor. The connector includes a C-shaped body having a curved top wall adapted to fit over a transmission conductor. A screw-operated wedge is carried by the bottom of the C-shaped body and includes an elongated recess in the top for supporting the distribution conductor. A conductor interface has a handle or gripping means thereon which allows the same to be easily placed within the connector body between the connectors. The screw positively moves the wedge both in and out so that the clamping action of the connector can be tightened or loosened as desired. A frangible nut prevents overtightening of the screw and a locking washer includes tabs which may be bent into place to prevent the screw from accidentally turning.

Electrical connector

A connector for joining two grounding grid-wire at their node point includes a C-shaped body member, a nesting member shaped like a cross, and a wedge member mounted for movement within the body member. The body member has two spaced apart fingers that straddle one conductor and hook onto the other conductor. The fingers are joined together by a yoke section. The nesting member has crossing depressions on opposite sides and is inserted between the conductors so that they seat on the depressions. The wedge member is mounted beneath the yoke section and screw driven between the yoke section and the straddled conductor to securely join the conductors together within the connector in nested relation.
