Computer readable instructions for operations that cause a processor to receive, by a remote recommendation server, a request comprising requestor information characterizing a site of a plurality of sites. The operations cause the processor to receive, by a site database, the requestor information, wherein the site database stores historical data characterizing the plurality of sites over time. The operations also cause the processor to receive, a recommendation engine, the requestor information and generate, by the recommendation engine, a set of plans to curtail the carbon footprint of the site based on the requestor information. The operations further cause the processor to simulate, by the recommendation engine, execution of the set of plans to curtail the carbon footprint of the site and select, by the recommendation engine, a plan of the set of plans to curtail the carbon footprint of the site.

Curtailing a carbon footprint to achieve carbon reduction goals

A solar farm and method of operating same. The solar farm has a first and second inverters with a first and second DC power input, respectively, and also has a first group of solar panels and a second group of solar panels. A first switch selectably alternately connects the first group of solar panels to one of either DC power inputs. An inverter current monitor monitors electrical current flowing into or out of the first inverter. A controller determines that the first inverter is operating as a clipping inverter based on a current measurement by the inverter current monitor while the first switch is connecting the first group of solar panels to the first DC power input. The controller also switches, when it is determined that the first inverter is operating as a clipping inverter, the first switch to connect the first group of solar panels to the second DC power input.

Solar farm interconnection reconfigurations

A solar tracking system includes a database to store data associated with a solar field comprising physical location parameters of each of a set of solar panels. The physical location parameters can include a relative row-to-row height and spacing of the solar panels. The system also includes a parameter aggregation tool to aggregate the physical location parameters to generate aggregate time-based output power data associated with the solar field based on geolocation data associated with the solar field. The system also includes a solar tracking tool to generate a solar tracking control scheme for the solar field based on the aggregate time-based output power data, the geolocation data associated with the solar field, and a row-to-row backtracking constraint. The set of solar panels of the solar field can implement solar tracking based on the solar tracking scheme.
