Examples herein relate to development of a master subscription at a home subscriber server (HSS). Examples disclose based on an activation from a gateway, the development of the master subscription at the HSS. The master subscription is exclusive to a group of Internet of Things (IoT) devices tethered to the gateway. Based on the master subscription developed at the HSS, a message, intended for a target IoT device among the group of IoT devices tether to the gateway, is transmitted to the gateway.

Development of a master subscription at a home subscriber server

Systems and methods are provided for managing clustered subscriptions. A method for managing clustered subscriptions may include identifying radio frequency enabled devices, each having a radio frequency enabled device unique identifier, to add to a cluster; requesting a unique cluster identifier from a control plane within a telecommunications network; generating the unique cluster identifier; associating the unique cluster identifier with each of the radio frequency enabled device unique identifiers; storing, in the control plane, the unique cluster identifier in association with each of the radio frequency enabled device unique identifiers; requesting, via the control plane, a status from each radio frequency enabled device within a subset of the radio frequency enabled devices; and transmitting the status to an external user via a data plane within the telecommunications network.

Managing clustered subscriptions

A attach request for a device may be received. The request may include a subscriber identity for the device. The subscriber identity may be matched to a subscriber identity pattern. The subscriber identity pattern may be used to retrieve a subscriber record. Subscriber data from the subscriber record may be returned in response to the attach request.
