A mirror adjustment device, in particular for a motor vehicle, comprising a mirror foot for mounting on a motor vehicle and a mirror housing adjustably connected with the mirror foot, wherein the mirror housing is adjustable between a folded-in position in which the mirror housing is situated substantially along the motor vehicle and a folded-out position in which the mirror housing is situated substantially transversely to the motor vehicle. The mirror housing is adjustable between a first position in which a slit is present between neighboring surfaces of the mirror housing and the mirror foot and a second position in which the neighboring surfaces of the mirror housing and the mirror foot substantially abut against each other. The mirror adjustment device comprises an elastic element for biasing the mirror housing towards the first position and is provided with cooperating elements for, under the influence of the elastic element, bringing the mirror housing into the first position when adjusting the mirror housing between the folded-in position and the folded-out position.

Mirror adjustment device

A hinge assembly for a wing mirror unit for a motor vehicle comprising a central shaft and a mirror housing pivotably arranged around the central shaft. In an embodiment, a bottom surface of the mirror housing is supported on a supporting surface at the base of the central shaft and, through cooperation, first and second run-on surfaces define a predetermined angular position between the central shaft and the mirror housing corresponding to a folded-out position of the mirror housing. In an embodiment, first run-on surfaces are provided on a side of the mirror housing remote from the supporting surface, and second run-on surfaces are connected with the central shaft to be axially compliant and rotation-coupled.

Hinge construction

A hinge actuator for a wing mirror unit includes a base plate, including base shaft with mirror support; output part; coupling ring; and gear wheel. The base plate and mirror support include cooperating stops. The coupling ring is arranged so as to be rotatable with limited travel about the base of the shaft between a first angle &#x3b1;1, which corresponds to a folded-out position, and a second angle &#x3b1;2. The coupling ring can cooperate with the mirror support via a first set of cooperating stops, and can cooperate with the base plate via a second set of cooperating stops, such that in the first angle &#x3b1;1 of the coupling ring, the spring force is transmitted, through cooperation of the first set of stops, and that in the second angle &#x3b1;2, the spring force, through cooperation of the second set of stops, is transmitted to the base plate.

Hinge actuator

Actuator mechanism for adjusting the position of a mirror element in a wing mirror for a motor vehicle, comprising an electric motor and a mirror adjusting element movably coupled therewith via a drive train. The drive train comprises a main gear which is included in the drive train nearer to the mirror adjusting element and further comprises a pinion being in mesh with the main gear, which pinion is included in the drive train nearer to the electric motor. The main gear and the pinion cooperate through an evoloid toothing. The invention also relates to a wing mirror for a motor vehicle in which at least one actuator mechanism is included.

A movement mechanism comprises a substantially spherical holder and a substantially bowl-shaped ring, which, when inserted into each other, are rotatable relative to each other about at least one first axis (A), which lies in a plane which is substantially parallel with the top face of the holder. Driving means are provided for enabling movement of the holder relative to the ring. These driving means comprise a non-straight driving rod bearing-mounted in the holder and means for activating the driving rod. The driving rod is further connected with a driving part, which is rotatably mounted in a recess in the ring relative to a second axis (B), which second axis (B) lies in a plane equal or parallel to the top face of the ring, and which second axis (B) lies at an angle of approximately 90&#xb0; to the first axis (A).
