A transmission belt is provided which has a first elastomeric material, a plurality of longitudinal inserts comprising a first material, a working surface covered by a covering including a second material, and an opposite surface to said working surface. At least one of the first material and the second material is a fibrous metallic material. Advantageously, the transmission belt is a toothed belt.

Transmission belt and associated transmission system

A fabric for transmission belts is described that is made entirely with polyaramid fibers. Furthermore, a transmission belt is provided that comprises a body made of a first elastomeric material, in which a plurality of resistant longitudinal filiform inserts is embedded, and a working surface covered in a covering fabric comprising polyaramid fibers in weft and warp yarns; advantageously, the transmission belt is a toothed belt. According to the present invention, in use, the belt is in continuous contact with oil or partially immersed in oil.

Use of a transmission belt in oil and related transmission system

Poly-V belt comprising a body made of elastomeric material, preferably EPDM, a plurality of threadlike resistant inserts longitudinally embedded in the body, and a coupling portion integrally connected to the body and comprising a plurality of V-shaped ribs arranged side by side and alternated with V-shaped grooves. According to the present invention the belt comprises a layer of a thermoplastic material which covers the ribs at least partially, and a layer of elastomeric material in which a knitted fabric is embedded. The layer of elastomeric material is above and in contact with the thermoplastic material.

Toothed belt for use with oil comprising a body and a plurality of teeth extending from at least a surface of the body; the teeth are covered by a coating fabric. The toothed belt comprises a plurality of resistant inserts produced from at least a first and a second material. Preferably, the resistant inserts are constituted by glass fibers and carbon fibers. Preferably, a resistant layer is made to adhere over the coating fabric, said layer comprising a fluorine based plastomer with the addition of an elastomeric material, wherein the plastomer is present in a greater amount than the elastomeric material. The elastomeric material forming the body of the belt is preferably a copolymer obtained from a diene monomer and a monomer containing nitrile groups, wherein the nitrile groups are between 33% and 49%, preferably 39 weight % with respect to the copolymer.

Poly-V belt, particularly for driving accessories of an internal combustion engine, comprising a cord realized from a yarn composed of a plurality of filaments by means of a first twisting in which are formed at least two plied yarns each composed of at least one yarn and a second twisting in which the plied yarns are twisted together to form the cord; the first twisting and the second twisting are made in opposite directions, and the numbers of twists per meter of the two twisting steps are calculated so that in the finished cord the filaments form with the axis of the cord an angle smaller than 3.3&#xb0;.

Elastically extensible poly-V transmission belt for driving accessories of an internal combustion engine

Described herein is a toothed belt comprising: a body made of elastomeric material having teeth on one of its surfaces; a coating fabric adherent to the surface of the teeth; and resistant inserts capable of having a high power of transmission, obtained by means of appropriate selection of parameters. The toothed belt according to the invention comprises a body formed by a mixture with a hardness value, after vulcanization, of between 90 and 97 shoreA, preferably made of chloroprene: the fabric is formed by at least one layer of fibers with a weight of between 700 and 1250 grams per square meter of surface, and preferably is a 6/6 textured polyamide, and the resistant inserts are made of glass fibers with a mean diameter of between 2.4 and 3 mm and are formed starting from basic filaments having a mean diameter of between 6 and 10 &#x3bc;m, which are preferably formed for at least 75 wt % of basic filaments having a mean diameter of 9 &#x3bc;m.

Toothed belt

In a process for manufacturing toothed belts of any length, a tubular sleeve comprising a layer of cords (1) and at least a layer of elastomeric material (2) is preformed in an autoclave without being vulcanized so as to produce, on the inner surface thereof, a plurality of grooves (5) spaced apart from one another according to a predetermined toothing pitch (P). The sleeve is helically cut to obtain a continuous strip (7) to be subsequently wrapped over two wrapping drums (8, 9) suitably spaced apart from each other depending on the circumferential extension to be given to the belt. The obtained annular element (10), when the wrapping has been completed, is trued up by means of the provided grooves, between a molding matrix (11) and opposite mould (12) and is submitted to a pressing step and simultaneous cross-linking of the elastomeric material (2) by closing said elastomeric material between the molding matrix (11) and opposite mold (12) according to stages in succession. Thus the complete formation of the teeth (3) on the inner side of the belt being worked occurs, as well as the firm bonding of the continuous loops (10a) formed by wrapping of the continuous strip (7).
