A flavoring device includes at least one flavoring casing having an air inlet opening arranged for allowing air to enter the flavoring casing, a flavoring air outlet opening arranged for allowing air to pass to a cooking chamber, and a flavoring air path fluidly connecting the air inlet opening to the flavoring air outlet opening. The flavoring casing houses, at least while in operation: a heating element arranged in the flavoring air path, and a flavoring substance rack arranged at least partially in the flavoring air path downstream the heating element. The heating element is housed spaced apart from the flavoring substance rack in such a way that, in operation, heat is transferred from the heating element to the flavoring substance rack mainly by air flowing inside the flavoring casing from the air inlet opening to the flavoring air outlet opening through the flavoring air path.

Flavoring device

A method of controlling the operation of a flavoring device () associated with a cooking chamber () of a cooking oven (') for treating food stored therein is proposed. The flavoring device () comprises at least one casing (), at least one air path () traversing said casing () and fluidly connecting at least one air inlet opening () of said casing () to at least one air outlet opening () of said casing (). The method comprises: a) providing one between a flavoring substance () and a smoking substance () in said at least one air path (); b) selecting () one between a flavoring process and a smoking process, and c) controlling (--) a heating in said casing () according to the selected one between said flavoring process and said smoking process.

An apparatus for cooking food products is provided. The apparatus includes at least one heating plate having a surface provided with alternate crests and troughs. The apparatus further comprises a fixing system adapted to detachably fix a corrugated protective plate, having a non-stick face, to said heating plate. The corrugated protective plate has a first and a second corrugated edge and alternate crests and troughs extending from the first to the second corrugated edge and adapted to match the alternate crests and troughs of the heating plate when the corrugated protective plate is fixed to the heating plate. Said fixing system comprises fixing elements adapted to exert a force on corresponding portions of the protective plate close to the first or the second corrugated edge so as to push the protective plate against the heating plate.

Apparatus for cooking food products including a detachable plate

An apparatus for cooking food products on both sides which has a food-support surface that is transparent to both microwave and infrared radiation, an electric heating device, and a microwave generator. The microwave generator is connected to a waveguide cavity for irradiating the food products. The apparatus also has a food-contact heating surface that, together with the food-support surface, forms a cooking chamber capable of retaining the microwaves inside. The electric heating device has a shielded resistor with the external shield electrically connected to ground. The apparatus has a partition element made of thermal-insulating and microwave-transparent material, a portion of which is below the shielded resistor to separate the resistor from the microwave generator. The waveguide cavity has a microwave launch aperture underneath the partition element. The microwaves exit the cavity and pass through the partition element, the shielded resistor, and the food-support surface and radiate into the cooking chamber.

A cooking appliance () includes a lower casing (), a lower food-contacting heating plate (), and an upper bell-shaped body () which is movably mounted on the lower casing () so as to be movable to and from a closed position. An upper food-contacting heating plate () is located inside the bell-shaped body () so as to be positioned, when the bell-shaped body () is in the closed position, over the lower heating plate (). The upper food-contacting heating plate () is connected to the bell-shaped body () to move freely inside the bell-shaped body () in a direction (d) substantially perpendicular to the reference laying plane of the upper heating plate (). A heating-plate locking device () selectively impairs movement of the upper heating plate () in the moving direction (d), and a control unit () controls the heating-plate locking device ().

Cooking appliance

Apparatus for cooking food products on both sides thereof, comprising a base member associated to a bottom heating surface, a first electric heating element located between the base member and the bottom heating surface, an upper movable member associated to a top heating surface, a second electric heating element located between said upper member and said top heating surface, and one or more microwave generators housed in the base member; when said upper member is lowered, the top heating surface comes to lie opposite to the bottom heating surface so as to form a cooking cavity therebetween. Said first electric heating element is separated from the bottom heating surface by a hollow space and the microwave generator is placed in such position, with the use of appropriate wave-guide means, as to allow the microwaves issuing therefrom to propagate towards said hollow space and, eventually, towards the bottom surface of said bottom heating surface.
