An image display device includes an observation optical system configured to guide light toward the eyes of an observer, a casing supporting the observation optical system so as to be movable along a predetermined path, a first heat dissipation part and a second heat dissipation part that are provided in the casing, positioned in opposite directions along the path with respect to the observation optical system, and configured to dissipate heat generated in the casing. A heat transfer part connects the first heat dissipation part and the second heat dissipation part so as to transfer heat between them.

Image display device

An image display device includes a display optical system, a base including a display optical system guide unit configured to guide the display optical system in a substantially linear direction, a main body exterior configured to house the base, a display exterior configured to cover the display optical system, and a display exterior guide unit configured to guide the display exterior in a substantially linear direction relative to the main body exterior, wherein the display optical system is engaged with the display exterior to move in conjunction with the display exterior, and wherein the base and the main body exterior are engaged with each other by an engagement mechanism configured to suppress transmission of an external force applied to the main body exterior to the base.

The present disclosure is directed to a head mounted apparatus that provides similar feeling in wearing, regardless of differences in head shape of users, and maintains stability of wearing even in a case where a user moves the head. A head mounted apparatus to be mounted on a head of a user includes a display unit configured to display an image to the user, an abutment portion disposed near the display unit and configured to abut the head of the user, a support member connected to the abutment portion and configured to hold a positional relationship between the abutment portion and the head of the user, and an assistance member movably connected to the abutment portion, and configured to abut a side portion of a face of the user and to assist support of the support member.

Head mounted apparatus

To provide an image display device that is advantageous in terms of a reduction in deterioration in image quality due to birefringence in an optical element of an ocular optical system in which polarized light is used, the image display device includes an ocular optical system including a polarization element and configured to guide light from an image display element toward an eyeball of an observer. The ocular optical system includes at least one optical element that has a forming gate mark in a part of an outer periphery. The forming gate mark is disposed in a direction of an apex of an image display region of the image display element with respect to a point on an optical axis of the ocular optical system in a cross section perpendicular to the optical axis of the ocular optical system.
