A protection or shading system for a motor vehicle, in particular a wind deflector system for a convertible, with a base, a sheet-like structure entendable between an inoperative position and a functional position in an extension direction away from the base, a rigid end element fastened to the sheet-like structure, and an extension device fastened on one side to the base and on the other side to the end element. The extension device is designed so as to transfer the system from an inoperative state in which the sheet-like structure, the end element and the extension device are each in an inoperative position, into a functional state, in which the sheet-like structure, the end element and the extension device are each in a functional position.

A cargo space cover for a motor vehicle, in which the cover includes a flexible flat sheet that is provided with two extended securing elements coaxial to each other and facing opposite sides located on the forward end with respect to the extraction direction that may be fitted into two receptacles affixed to the vehicle when the cover is in an extended position. The securing elements are connected by means of a longitudinally-extending tensioning medium, and the securing elements and the vehicle-mounted receptacles include matching securing sections that form an interlocking restraint of the flat sheet when in an extended position.

A cargo area divider for a motor vehicle has a flexible planar structure that is equipped in a front end region with a pull-out profile that has retaining elements for detachably securing the pull-out profile on vehicle-mounted retainers in a roof region of the motor vehicle. When the planar structure is in the pulled-out functional state, the retaining elements project upward beyond an upper edge of the pull-out profile; and the corresponding vehicle-mounted retainers are positioned, in order to receive the retaining elements, in a horizontal headliner region at a distance from lateral roof frame elements of the roof region of the motor vehicle.
