There is provided a collimator lens capable of adjusting a reflection angle of fluorescence with high accuracy and emitting the fluorescence with high efficiency. Provided is a collimator lens including an aperture, a reflecting portion, and a condensing portion, in which the reflecting portion formed on an inner peripheral surface reflects, to the condensing portion, light emitted from the condensing portion, and the light collected at the condensing portion is emitted toward the aperture or the reflecting portion. Furthermore, there is provided a light source device including the collimator lens, an excitation optical system, and a phosphor.

Collimator lens, light source device, and image display device

A light source unit according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a light source section; and a wavelength conversion element that is excited by exciting light from the light source section to emit fluorescent light. The wavelength conversion element includes a substrate that is rotatable around a rotation axis, a phosphor layer including a plurality of phosphor particles, and a quantum-dot layer including a plurality of quantum dots. The phosphor layer and the quantum-dot layer are disposed in this order relative to the light source section.

A light source device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a light source section including a first light source outputting light in a first wavelength range and a second light source outputting light in a second wavelength range in a same direction as the light in the first wavelength range; a wavelength converter that is excited by the light in the first wavelength range to output fluorescent light; a light condenser that concentrates the light in the first wavelength range and the light in the second wavelength range on the wavelength converter; and a multiplexer that transmits light in the first wavelength range and that reflects at least a portion of the light in the second wavelength range in accordance with incident angles of the light, and combines the light in the first wavelength range, the light in the second wavelength range, and the fluorescent light.

Light source device and projection-type display apparatus

A projection display device includes a light source part including a first light source part that emits first color light and a second light source part that emits second color light having an emission intensity distribution different from that of the first color light, an image generator that generates an image on a basis of light emitted from the light source part, and a projection lens that projects the light outputted from the image generator onto a projection surface and has a projection optical axis that is shifted from a reference optical axis of the device as a whole. An emission optical axis of the first light source part is shifted to a direction opposite to a direction of the projection optical axis having been shifted.

The invention aims to provide small-sized and highly-reliable light converter and light source unit, as well as a projector each of which makes it possible to cool down heat generated in a fluorescent body in a motorless manner. A light converter of the disclosure includes a fluorescent body that is excited by excitation light; a first light-collecting lens that has a lens surface to which the fluorescent body is bonded, and causes the excitation light to enter the fluorescent body; and a heat-dissipating member to which the lens surface is adhered at least around a region to which the fluorescent body is bonded.

A lighting system is provided that includes: an optical device including a cylindrical lens made up of a liquid lens, an emission unit including an axis line in the Z-axis direction, and a reflecting mirror configured to reflect light emitted from the emission unit. The cross-sectional shape of a light reflecting portion when cutting away the reflecting mirror at a virtual plane perpendicular to the Z axis is a part of a parabola. The axis line of the emission unit is positioned between the vertex-of the parabola and a focal point. Thus, there is provided a lighting system in which an optical device, which is made up of a liquid lens employing an electrowetting phenomenon, having an arrangement and configuration whereby high optical power can be obtained.

Lighting system

There is provided a liquid lens in which a voltage is applied to control the shape of the interface between a polar liquid and a nonpolar liquid so as to control a transmitted light path at the interface. The liquid lens has a cavity with a polygonal upper side, into which the polar liquid and the nonpolar liquid are injected to form the interface.
