A method of using at least one leguminous starch derivative having a predetermined molecular mass in weight and a predetermined sol/gel transition temperature for preparing a composition for laying paper or flat carton. The leguminous starch derivative and laying compositions prepared from the same, in particular with high dried materials are also disclosed.

Use of a leguminous starch derivative for coating paper or folding carton and coating composition containing same

A novel cationic liquid starchy composition and uses thereof in industry, in particular, as an additive in paper and cardboard production, as an additive for treatment of industrial water, either from paper or cardboard production or not, or for the preparation of such additives. The cationic liquid starchy composition is characterized by selected dry material, viscosity, total nitrogen content and pH values. The viscosity is 200 mPa&#xb7;s with a maximum of 1000 mPa&#xb7;s, (according to a T test). The nitrogen content is at least 0.6% with a maximum of 1.4% (dry/dry). The cationic liquid starchy composition can contain, at least one polyol, preferably a saccharide and used as is or after dilution. The composition is particularly suitable, for the preparation of adhesive agents, particularly of the ASA type for bringing into contact, directly or not, with a fiber composition having a raised calcium ion content.

Cationic liquid starchy composition and uses thereof

An adhesive composition includes an aqueous dispersion having a primary part, consisting essentially of a gelatinized starch, and a secondary part, comprising essentially a non-gelatinized starch and/or a swollen starch, wherein the starch of the secondary part is a native legume starch, and the starch of the primary part is optionally a native or modified legume starch, the legume starches having an amylose content ranging between 30 and 52%. The invention also concerns the method for preparing such a composition, comprising its use, assembling the parts and drying and satisfying the requirements of modern fast machinery.

Aqueous adhesive composition based on legume starch

This invention relates to a novel composition for the production of planar structures, whereby said composition is based on a cationic amylaceous material and a sulphonated amylaceous such as sulphocarboxylate. The composition can exist in the form of a pulverulent solid mixture or an aqueous suspension in which both amylaceous materials take the form of granules which are swollen or unswollen. Said composition can also exist in the form of an adhesive which can or cannot contain granular structures which are swollen or unswollen and/or complexes which associate both amylaceous materials. Said complexes flocculate and precipitate generally during the solubilization stage which can advantageously consist of a continuous or discontinuous curing stage. The use of said compositions and flocculated/precipitated complexes that they can contain allows planar structures, especially structures made of paper, cardboard or films, to be provided with physical characteristics that meet the needs of current usage in every way. Said compositions can be introduced into a fibrous mass either on one occasion or on a number of occasions at a rate of 2-12 wt. % (sec/sec) for internal treatment of paper.
