A method for creating electrical contact between a first superconductive strip conductor and a further electrical conductor element, wherein the first superconductive strip conductor is placed in flat contact against a first main surface of a reactive multilayer film in a contact area of the strip conductor, the second main surface, facing away from the first main surface, of the reactive multilayer film is placed in flat contact against the further electrical conductor element, and a permanent electrically conductive connection is formed between the first superconductive strip conductor and the further electrical conductor element by subsequently igniting an exothermic chemical reaction in the multilayer film. An electrical conductor assembly is able to be contacted using such a method.

Various embodiments include a superconducting coil device comprising: a coil winding with at least one turn of a superconducting strip conductor; wherein the strip conductor has a first main face and a second main face. The coil winding includes a turning region wherein the strip conductor is bent such that, in the turning region, the strip conductor has a distinct change of direction in a longitudinal direction and simultaneously changes the orientation of both the first main face and the second main face with respect to a central axis of the coil device.

A method for producing an electrical coil device may include winding a strip conductor into a coil winding and subsequently dividing the coil winding into at least two partial coils by at least one cut through the coil winding, wherein the strip conductor remains connected as a doubly contiguous loop by existing remaining connections in the end regions of the strip conductor. An electric coil device is also disclosed, which includes at least two partial coils from a higher-level doubly contiguous strip conductor. The at least two partial coils may be produced by subsequent cutting of a coil winding wound by a single strip conductor.

A method for forming superconducting connection structure between at least two superconducting wires is disclosed, where each wire includes at least one superconducting filament. An end piece of each superconducting wire may be positioned inside a cavity of a pressing tool. A contacting material including MgB2 and/or a precursor material for MgB2 may also be positioned inside the cavity. Pressure may be applied to the contacting material through the pressing tool, and the contacting material may be heated inside the cavity. Pressure and heat may be applied simultaneously, at least during part of the process. A superconducting connection structure including at least two superconducting wires, each wire including at least one superconducting filament, and a superconducting connection between the end pieces of the two wires is also disclosed. The connection may be formed of heated and compressed contacting material including MgB2.

A superconducting coil device includes at least one coil winding, including at least one first and one second superconducting strip conductor, the first and second strip conductors each having a superconducting layer and a contact side provided with a contact layer; at least one first contact electrically connecting the contact side of the first strip conductor to an external circuit via a first contact piece; at least one second contact electrically connecting the contact side of the second strip conductor to the external circuit via a second contact piece; and a third contact electrically connecting the first and second strip conductors via the contact layer of the first and the second strip conductor within the coil winding, wherein the contact side of the first strip conductor has a different orientation relative to a center of the coil winding than the contact side of second strip conductor.

A coil system for a magnetic resonance tomography system includes a plurality of coils for sending and/or receiving high-frequency signals. The plurality of coils is disposed in a receiving chamber between a tomography magnet and a lining of an opening in the tomography magnet and may be cooled by a cooling apparatus. When the coil system is in an operating state, the receiving chamber is filled with a cryogenic cooling medium.

A plurality of windings in a coil winding of a superconducting coil device includes at least one superconducting strip conductor that has a strip-shaped substrate strip and a superconducting layer arranged on the substrate strip. The coil device is subdivided into a plurality of segments in which adjacent windings are cast or adhered together within each segment, adjacent windings being, at most, weakly connected or adhered together in at least one sub-region, in the intermediate region between two adjacent segments.

Each part has an annular structure with base areas that are identical for all of the parts, and an outer surface that is a band of the surface of a straight cylinder between the bases. The parts are adjacently connected with one another with a lateral separation therebetween in the direction of the winding axis, and with the cut-outs forming a common slit extending over both parts. A high-temperature superconductor (HTS) coil includes a coil winding with a superconducting material and a coil former for carrying the coil winding. When the high-temperature supercon-ductor (HTS) coil cools down from a room temperature to an operating temperature, the coil winding or the coil former counteract a thermal shrinkage of the coil winding in order to avoid or reduce a longitudinal compression of the superconducting material of the coil winding.

A process produces a connecting structure between two superconductors, in particular magnesium diboride superconductors embodied as a superconducting core wire surrounded by normally conducting metal. A substance which reduces the melting point of magnesium is admixed to a substance mixture including magnesium and boron, and the exposed ends of the core wires are brought into contact with the substance mixture, which is caused to react in situ at a reaction temperature corresponding to the lower melting point to give magnesium diboride.

A superconductive connecting device of at least one embodiment is used to contact the end pieces of two superconductors, each of which includes at least one conductor lead that is made of a superconductive MgB2 material and embedded in a matrix made of a normally conductive material, the conductor lead being directly sheathed with a barrier material. In a connecting region, the conductor leads of the end pieces, which are at least partially stripped of the matrix material and the barrier material, are arranged inside a sleeve or bushing, and a magnesium diboride (MgB2) material is additionally present as a superconductive contacting material which is located at least in some partial regions between the conductor leads. For establishing the connection, the cross-section of the sleeve or bushing filled in this way is reduced.

Superconductive connecting device for the end pieces of two superconductors and method for the production thereof

A pulsed magnetic field is generated by a device having a magnet to be operated in pulse operation which contains at least one superconductive refrigerant-free winding that is disk-shaped or saddle-shaped. Also included is a refrigerating unit which has at least one cold head. A line system, having a refrigerant circulating in it according to a thermosiphon effect, thermally couples the winding to the cold head. The line system has a plurality of separate pipes lying next to one another. The pipes, open onto a common refrigerant distributor and closed at the other end, are thermally coupled to the surface of the disk-shaped or saddle-shaped winding.

A heat pipe arranged between warm and cold connection elements is intended to be filled at least partially with a refrigerant, which can be circulated in the heat pipe by a thermosiphon effect. The parts of a device, particularly in superconducting technology, which are to be cooled are connected to the warm connection element and a heat sink is connected to the cold connection element. To thermally separate the warm and cold connection elements, the refrigerant can be pumped off through the pipeline connected to the interior of the heat pipe.

A switching path having superconducting material in a switching device may be cooled to a predetermined superconducting operating temperature. The switching device includes a mechanism for exceeding at least one of the critical values of the superconducting material in a controlled manner to change the switching path from the superconducting state to the normally conductive state. The switching device may have an operating temperature of below 40 K, and contain magnesium diboride as the superconducting material for its switching path.
