A multi-sensory spatial audio experience system transforms one or more features of audio data to visualizations and coordinates for presentation of the visualizations with auditory cues of the audio data to create a combination of auditory-visual cues for audio spatialization. The multi-sensory spatial audio experience system presents a graphical depiction of audio source spatial positions with respect to a user depiction via a user interface. The multi-sensory spatial audio experience system determines a spatial feature(s) of input audio data and transforms the audio data spatial feature into visual feature data. In coordination with rendering of the audio data, the multi-sensory spatial audio experience system updates the user interface according to the visual feature data. A user can visually perceive graphical changes in the audio source spatial positions that reinforce the auditory perception of the corresponding audio data.

Visualizing spatial audio

A system comprises a sound source to output an audio signal to a plurality of speakers arranged in a plurality of locations in a vehicle. A laser device is disposed on an object representing a human head placed in a seat of the vehicle to scan the locations of the speakers. A microphone is disposed in each ear of the object. A controller routes the audio signal to the speakers one speaker at a time, receives audio signals received via the microphones, and compiles binaural acoustic data for the vehicle based on the audio signals received via the microphones. The controller receives scan data from the laser device and generates geometric data for the vehicle based on the scan data. The controller generates head-related transfer functions (HRTFs) for the object based on the binaural acoustic data and the geometric data for the vehicle.

System and method to virtually mix and audition audio content for vehicles

Spatial audio is received from an audio server over a first communication link. The spatial audio is converted by a cloud spatial audio processing system into binaural audio. The binauralized audio is streamed from the cloud spatial audio processing system to a mobile station over a second communication link to cause the mobile station to play the binaural audio on the personal audio delivery device.
