The disclosed apparatus may include a mount component that is mountable to a structural component of a personal mobility vehicle and a dock interface component that is adapted to securely interface with a dock via an interaction between the dock interface component and the dock. The mount component is mountable to any of at least one type of bicycle at a first position and at least one type of scooter at a second position. A docking point of the dock is configured to be interfaceable with any of the at least one type of bike at the first position and the at least one type of scooter at the second position. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Apparatus, systems, and methods for charging personal mobility vehicles via docks

The disclosed apparatus may include a collar for charging a personal mobility vehicle via a dock. In some embodiments, the collar may be fitted with a charging connector that interfaces with a dock that charges the personal mobility vehicle when the personal mobility vehicle is docked. In one embodiment, the collar and a corresponding receiving element in the dock may be shaped such that the collar fits securely in the receiving element without requiring mechanical action by the collar or receiving element and only requiring a user to push the personal mobility vehicle straight into the dock. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Various embodiments of helmets and methods of their manufacture are disclosed. In some embodiments, the helmet includes a helmet shell having a helmet shell edge and/or a mounting location for mounting an accessory to the helmet shell. A material that is adherent to the helmet shell may be sprayed onto the helmet shell edge of the helmet shell to form a trim. Alternatively, the material may be sprayed onto a portion of the helmet shell associated with either a mounting location for mounting an accessory or a position for a mounted accessory.

Systems and methods for attaching an accessory to a helmet. A helmet accessory mounting interface may be attached to a receptacle. The receptacle may be removably or permanently received by a carrier. The carrier may be attached to a helmet having a particular shape and size. The carrier also may be configured to receive any selected type of a plurality of receptacle types which, in turn, corresponds to a particular mounting interface for a helmet accessory. The receptacle may be receivable, in some embodiments removably, by any one of a number of different types of carriers.

A helmet assembly includes a face shield and a single, center top mounting arrangement that operatively connects a center top location of the face shield to a center front mount on the helmet. The face shield can be raised and lowered about a pivot axis provided in the mounting arrangement between a tilted up, non-use position and a lowered, deployed position. The mounting arrangement can include a detent and two recesses, wherein the detent engages a first recess at a slightly forwardly displaced position to allow ventilation between the helmet and mandible and the face shield and a second recess at the tilted up, non-use position. The recess and detent engagement can be overcome by easy manual force acting on the face shield to reposition the face shield.

Attachment systems for attaching accessories to a helmet shell and their methods of use are described. In one embodiment, an attachment system may include a first attachment portion mounted to a helmet shell and extending through an opening in an associated accessory. The attachment system also may include a second attachment portion that is selectively connectable to the first attachment portion. A surface of the second attachment portion facing the helmet shell engages with a bearing surface of the accessory to selectively attach the accessory to the helmet shell. In certain embodiments, the first and second attachment portions may be selectively connected to one another using a connector that moves the second attachment portion both vertically and horizontally relative to the first attachment portion when the connector is tightened.

Apparatus and methods for securing accessories to a helmet

Methods and devices for attaching a battery to a helmet and attaching a battery to an additional device are disclosed. A battery may be mounted to the rear center of a helmet. Attaching and detaching a battery to and from a helmet may be performed with a tool or by hand. The battery may be used to power multiple devices through separate contacts, and a device may be attached to the battery while the battery mounted to a helmet. The battery also may be detached from the helmet and serve as a portable energy source.

Helmet-mounted display unit arrangements provide improved adjustability, including pitch, yaw, and/or vertical translation adjustment. In some embodiments, adjustments to one parameter do not affect the adjustability of other parameters. The helmet-mounted display and associated mount may be arranged such that the helmet-mounted display fits behind a helmet-mounted visor and/or in front of glasses being worn by the user.

Helmet-mounted display

A helmet attachment system is usable to attach a mandible or face or mouth guard. The helmet attachment system also comprises a pair of attachment bases, each arranged on a side of the helmet near to an ear covering of the helmet. The attachment bases each include a metal base plate covered by an attached body block. Each attachment base provides provisions for attaching opposite ends of a mandible to the bases. The metal base plate includes hooks for engaging an edge of the helmet. A pair of strap assemblies is provided, each strap assembly connected to one attachment base. The strap assemblies extend rearward and are connected to the back rail by a buckle member on the end of each strap assembly. The back rail includes a pair of buckle member-receiving slots. The straps assemblies and the hooks provided on the attachment bases secure the attachment bases to the helmet.

Integrated helmet systems provide convenient and modular use of electronic devices with a protective helmet. In addition to ease of use, weight savings and space savings also may be realized in certain embodiments. A flexible printed circuit board is used as a power bus to deliver electrical power from a battery pack to various electronic devices. Examples of devices used with protective helmets include: night vision goggles; helmet-mounted display units; ear phones; communication headsets; camera systems; biometric sensors; microprocessors; identify friend or foe devices (IFFs); and GPS devices.
