A hair treatment composition in a anionic, nonionic or amphoteric system includes water and a novel association of polysaccharide, such as inulin, and a film-forming polymer, such as polysilicone-29. The composition may include one or more additional components selected from polymers such as anionic polymers and nonionic polymers, amphoteric surfactants, or fatty compounds, embodied to deliver one or more of smoothing, straightening and curling/curl defining style features to achieve a particular straight or curly style with frizz control, softness and manageability.

Compositions containing polymers and aminosilicone for conditioning and styling hair

The instant disclosure relates to hair cosmetic compositions that include a cationic vinylpyrrolidone copolymer, a cationic thickening agent comprising at least one unit derived from acrylic or methacrylic acid, a cationic surfactant, including a cationizable surfactant; a fatty alcohol, present in an amount of not more than about 3 wt. %; panthenol, an amino functionalized silicone, a plant or vegetable oil, present in an amount of not more than about 4.5 wt. %; and water. Disclosed are compositions for washing, cleansing, and/or conditioning keratinous substrates, comprising, in a physiologically acceptable medium: a) at least one anionic film-forming polymer chosen from polymers and copolymers of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, and/or mixtures thereof; b) at least one ampholytic polymer having at least one acrylic acid moiety and a cationic charge density ranging from greater than 1 meq/g up to about 3.5 meq/g; and c) at least one surfactant base; wherein the at least one anionic film-forming polymer and the at least one ampholytic polymer form an association; and wherein the pH of the composition ranges from about 5 to about 7. The present invention relates to a method of coloring hair, comprising the steps of applying onto the hair a pre-treatment composition containing at least one saccharide-siloxane copolymer to form pre-treated hair, optionally, at least one emulsifier, optionally, at least one viscosity-modifying agent, and a cosmetically acceptable medium; applying a permanent hair coloring composition onto the pre-treated hair to form colored hair, rinsing the colored hair, optionally, applying a post-treatment composition to the hair, and optionally, rinsing the colored hair.
