A method for drilling cavities in underground formations in which drill cuttings are removed by injecting an aqueous composition (C) into the drill hole. Composition (C) includes between 1 and 65 wt. % salt(s), between 0.05 and 2 wt. % anti-foaming agent(s), between 13 and 97.95 wt. % water, and between 1 and 20 wt. % composition (C). Composition (C) includes, optionally, between 0.1 and 30 wt. % auxiliary agent(s), between 0 and 100 wt. % of a surfactant system of one or more compositions (C) according to R&#x2014;O-(G)p-H, Rbeing an aliphatic radical including between 4 and 16 carbon atoms, Gbeing a reducing sugar residue and 1.05&#x2264;p&#x2264;5, and between 0 and 50 wt. % alcohol(s) according to R&#x2014;OH, Rbeing an aliphatic radical including between 4 and 16 carbon atoms. Also, compositions (C) and their use as a lubricant for producing an aqueous drilling mud.

Method for drilling underground cavities, compositions comprising alkyl polyglycosides, and use thereof as a lubricant in the production of aqueous drilling muds

A compound having Formula (I), nC&#x2014;H&#x2014;O-(G)-H, where G is a reducing sugar residue, and p is a decimal number &#x2267;1.05 and &#x2266;5. The method for preparing the compound and its use as a hydrotropic surfactant by making soluble, in an aqueous alkaline composition, at least one non-ionic surfactant having Formula (II), R&#x2014;(O&#x2014;CH(R')&#x2014;CH2)n-(0-CH2-CH2)m-0-H, where R is a straight, branched, saturated or unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon radical including 8-14 carbon atoms, R&#x2032; is a methyl or ethyl radical, n and m are whole numbers &#x2267;0 and &#x2266;15, assuming that n+m&#x2267;0. Cleaning compositions containing 0.5% to 20% of compounds of Formula (I), 0.5% to 80% of compounds of Formula (II), 10-50 wt % of at least one alkaline agent, 15-89 wt % of water, and optionally, 10-50 wt % of at least one anti-limescale agent are useful for cleaning hard surfaces.

A process for drilling cavities in subterranean formations includes a step of removal of the drill cuttings using an aqueous fluid in the form of a foam, obtained by mixing: an aqueous composition (Ci) including, per 100% by weight: from 0.5% by weight to 25% by weight of a compound of formula (I): R&#x2014;C(O)&#x2014;NH&#x2014;CH(COOM)-(CH)&#x2014;COOM' (I) in which n represents an integer equal to 1 or 2, Rrepresents a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon-based radical including from eight to eighteen carbon atoms, M represents a monovalent cation and M&#x2032;, which is identical to or different from M, represents a hydrogen atom or a monovalent cation; or of a mixture of compounds of formula (I), and from 75% to 99.5% by weight of water, with a gas or a mixture of gases, chosen from air, nitrogen or carbon dioxide.

A composition (C) of formula (I): R&#x2014;O-(G)-H (I). G is a reducing sugar, Ris a heptyl radical, p is a decimal number, and 1&#x3c;p&#x2266;5. Composition (C) is a mixture of compounds of five formulae: R&#x2014;O-(G)-H (I), R&#x2014;O-(G)-H (I), R&#x2014;O-(G)-H (I), R&#x2014;O-(G)-H (I), and R&#x2014;O-(G)-H (I). The sum of their molar proportions a, a, a, aand aequals 1, and p=a+2a+3a+4a+5a. Composition (C) is a solubilising agent in an acidic aqueous composition for non-ionic surfactant(s) according to: R&#x2014;(O&#x2014;CH(R')&#x2014;CH)&#x2014;(O&#x2014;CH&#x2014;CH)&#x2014;O&#x2014;H (II). R is a C8-C14 aliphatic radical, R&#x2032; is CHor CHCH, 0&#x2266;n&#x2266;15, 0&#x2266;m&#x2266;15, and (n+m)&#x3e;0. Also, compositions (C) having 0.2-40% mass of composition(s) (C) and 0.2-80% mass non-ionic surfactant(s) of formula (II), which may be used to clean hard surfaces.
