The invention is directed to a coupling device for an appliance for domestic use, in particular a handheld blender, for connecting a drive part to a tool shank, with a locking device having locking elements being arranged on a coupling section of the drive part, said locking elements being in engagement with depressions formed on the inner circumference of the tool shank in the locked state. The invention is characterized in that the locking device is constructed as an annular spring element and that in the area of the locking element provision is made for an actuating device causing, when actuated, the spring element to be deformed elastically such that the locking element moves inwardly, hence becoming disengaged from the detent element.

Coupling device for an appliance for domestic use

The invention is directed to a device for chopping food, in particular ice cubes, which includes a container body ( ) subdivided into an upper processing zone ( ) and a lower collecting zone ( ). The rotary chopping tool ( ) received in the processing zone ( ) serves to comminute the food materials. A sieve ( ) is provided in the transition region from the processing zone ( ) to the collecting zone ( ). The device of the invention has the advantage of enabling both foodstuffs and ice cubes to be reduced to defined sizes readily. In addition, ice cubes may be reduced without major amounts of energy being absorbed by the chopping tool ( ) and without the reduced parts beginning to melt.

The invention is directed to a safety device for a jug blender that has a blender jug ( ) adapted for seating engagement with a base ( ) equipped with a drive motor. The invention is directed to an electric powered hand mixer for processing food materials, which is provided with switching arrangements adjustably disposed on a housing ( ) and featuring different settings for activation of a continuous-on mode and a pulse mode. Provision is made for tool mounts for holding various tools including, for example, a mixing or kneading tool ( ) or a pur&eacute;eing wand. A lock release element ( ) is provided for ejecting a tool held in one of the tool mounts. Provision is made for two switching devices ( ) one of which is associated with the activation of the continuous-on mode and one with the activation of the pulse mode. The two switching devices ( ) and the lock release element ( ) are mechanically coupled to each other so that only one of the two switching devices ( ) is actuatable at a time.

Electric powered hand mixer

A bell-shaped shield for use on a household appliance, particularly a hand blender or a hand mixer has an inner wall that forms a space which is accessible from below via an opening through which food is supplied and discharged. A blade-like processing tool inside the space is adapted to be set in rotation by a drive shaft so that the food is caught, comminuted and/or mixed by said tool. The surface of the inner wall has on its circumference individual outwardly extending wall sections for the formation of clearance spaces, said wall sections serving primarily for the diversion, comminution and enhanced mixing of food, while the clearance spaces are used for receiving and discharging the food. This configuration allows for a more intensive and thorough mixing and comminution of food in a minimum of time.

Bell-shaped shield for use on a household appliance, particularly a hand blender or a hand mixer

The invention is directed to a gear arrangement for domestic use, particularly for kitchen appliances. It has an input shaft (,) at the driving end and an output shaft (,) rotatably connected to a working part at the driven end, there being arranged between the input shaft (,) and the output shaft (,) a planet gear train comprising at least one planet gear (,), a sun gear (,) meshing with said planet gear and a ring gear (,) meshing with said planet gear (,). The planet gear (,) is in meshing engagement with the input shaft (,) on the one side and in rotary engagement by way of its axle bearing (,) with the output shaft (,) on the other side. For easy, rapid and accurate assembly, the supporting member (,) is firmly connected with the extension (,) of the cover plate (,) by means of locking members (,), and the cover plate (,), the supporting member (,) and the bearing sleeve (,) are mounted on the working shaft (,) to form a subassembly that is removeable from the processing tool as a unit.
