Electrolyte for an electrolyte-supported high-temperature fuel cell includes zirconium(IV) oxide doped with from 3.5 mol % to 6.5 mol % of ytterbium(III) oxide. The electrolyte has a thermal expansion coefficient (TEC) based on 30&#xb0; C. of from 10.6*10Kto 11.1*10Kat 800&#xb0; C.

A process for producing a solid electrolyte capacitor with an anode comprising a sintered fine NbOpowder, where 0.5&#x3c;x&#x3c;1.7, includes forming a green anode body. The forming is essentially performed without applying a pressure. The green anode body is sintered so as to provide a sintered anode body. The sintered anode body is electrolytically oxidized so as to provide an electrolytically oxidized anode body. The electrolytically oxidized anode body is provided with a cathode so as to provide the solid electrolyte capacitor.

Process for the production of shaped articles of niobium or tantalum by electrochemical etching of a niobium or tantalum sheet covered by a structured photoresist mask in an aqueous solution containing hydrofluoric acid, the etching being effected under electrochemical conditions under which strong noise is superposed on the etching current and the etching solution contains a water-soluble polymer.

A paste is described for the production of sintered refractory metal layers, particularly for electrolytic capacitor anodes, consisting of 40 to 92% by weight of a refractory metal powder as a discrete phase, and of a continuous phase which substantially consists of organic compounds which are synthesised from carbon, oxygen and hydrogen only, wherein the ratio of the number of oxygen atoms to carbon atoms is at least 0.5, and optionally consisting of a solvent which evaporates below 150&deg; C.
