Printing formulations and methods

A system for interfacing between different types of conveyor systems that comprise a first serial conveyor system using a sequence of object carriers configured to transport a continuous serial stream of objects, and a parallel conveyor system configured to simultaneously transport one or more arrays of objects. A first accumulator unit can be used to accumulate a batch of the object carriers of the first serial conveyor system. Each of the object carriers can carry an object of the continuous serial stream of objects for accumulating a batch of the objects therein. Two or more first movable trays, each configured to receive an array of the objects from the batch of objects accumulated in the first accumulator unit, can be used to transfer the received array of objects to the parallel conveyor system, and load the objects thereby carried onto grippers of the parallel conveyor system.

Conveyors interfacing system and method

A printing technique is presented for efficiently printing (i.e. with production lines rates at high resolution and high accuracy) on outer surfaces of a plurality of objects passing in an optimized stream through a printing route/zone. According to this technique, at least one array of printing head units is provided being configured to define at least one printing route along a printing axis, where the at least one printing route is a substantially linear segment of a closed loop lane along which the objects are progressing.

Method of printing on curved objects

Machinery and techniques are disclosed for applying treatment processes to surfaces of objects arranged in a form of an array of objects, and for inspecting surface areas of the objects in such object arrays before and/or after applying the surface treatment processes thereto. The treated objects are held by an array of grippers/mandrels, each gripper/mandrel is configured to receive a respective object of the array, and to controllably generate gripping contact with internal surface(s) of the received object, for attaching the object thereto. A gripper of some embodiments comprises a body assembly configured to be at least partially received inside the object and comprising a hollow part extending along a length thereof, one or more friction imparting elements located in or on the body assembly and configured to change between an engaged state in which contact with inner surface of the object placed over the gripper is established therewith, and a released state in which there is no contact with the inner surface of the object, and an attachment mechanism configured to cause the one or more friction imparting elements to engage the inner surface of the object when said object is placed over the gripper.

A printing system is provided for printing on an object having a curved surface. The printing system comprises: a support assembly for supporting an object having the curved surface to be printed on, said support assembly comprising a gripper configured for holding the object thereon at a predetermined working distance between the curved surface of the object and a printing head unit, said gripper being configured and operable for varying its cross-sectional dimension so as to maintain said working distance for the objects of different dimensions.

Printing system and method

A layer-by-layer three dimensional printing technique for printing on outer surfaces of a plurality of substrate elements passing through a printing route/zone while being rotated thereinside about a printing axis. At least one array of printing head units is used to define at least one printing route along the printing axis, where the at least one printing route is a substantially linear segment of a closed loop lane along which the objects are progressing. The print head units being configured for movement along radial axes, or one or more axes substantially perpendicular, to the printing axis, to allow layer-by-layer printing of said three-dimensional objects over said substrate elements while being rotated in said printing route.

System and method for printing three-dimensional objects

Systems and methods of controlling ink deposition during printing are disclosed. An example of a method includes actuating a plurality of print heads to deposit ink on a substrate. The method also includes activating an energy source to speed cure of the deposited ink on the substrate. The method also includes adjusting electrical output to the plurality of print heads to compensate for different distances from the energy source to each of the plurality of print heads.

Controlling ink deposition during printing

An inkjet printing apparatus for printing on a substrate comprises a first support, which is a substrate support, and a second support which supports at least one inkjet printing head, at least one UV source of ultraviolet radiation, and at least one gas dispenser. The second support is moveable relative to a substrate supported by the first support. The printing head deposits ink on the substrate and the UV source cures the deposited ink. The gas dispenser is arranged to provide a layer of gas, which is at least depleted of oxygen, between the UV source and the substrate.

Printing or coating apparatus and method

According to one example of the present invention there is provided a printer for a printing on a roll of substrate. The printer comprises a substrate support for receiving a roll of substrate, a drive mechanism for driving substrate from a roll of substrate when installed on the substrate support through a print writing module, and a substrate edge trimming module for trimming the longitudinal edges of a substrate prior to the substrate passing through the print writing module.

A printing apparatus for printing on a substrate comprises a first support for the substrate and a second support moveable relative to the first support. The second support supports an inkjet print head and at least one plasma source. The print head and plasma source move with the support to apply plasma to the substrate and to deposit ink on the substrate treated with the plasma.
