A method, system, and/or computer program product manages the lifecycle of trained models used to deliver cognitive services. One or more processors obtain and deploy a cognitive engine that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and/or similar algorithms. One or more processors obtain and deploy a version of a trained model that includes data that supports cognitive operations of the cognitive engine within a cognitive service. In response to changes to the input used to produce the trained model, one or more processors obtain and deploy a subsequent version of the trained model in support of the cognitive service.

A system and method for managing provenance data are disclosed. In accordance with one method, input data elements assessed by a processing element are evaluated. A method of pre-fetching and preparing content in an information processing system is provided. The method includes the steps of generating at least one content pre-fetching policy and at least one content preparation policy, wherein each of the policies are at least in part a function of context information associated with a user. The content is pre-fetched based on information contained within the at least one content pre-fetching policy. Once the content has been pre-fetched, it is prepared based on information contained within the at least one content preparation policy. The context information associated with the user includes at least one of the user's usage patterns, current location, future plans and preferences.

Methods and systems are provided for routing incoming customer service requests directly to the most appropriate destination within a call center without requiring customer knowledge of a specific telephone number or extension to call and without requiring the customer to select from a series of menus. The receiving location or inbound call center accepts a voice call from a customer. The incoming voice call includes an associated data stream. This data stream is processed by the inbound call center and is used to route the call to the appropriate destination or customer service representative, for example a specific person, a department, a subsidiary, an individual either working within a facility or working outside the facility, a subcontractor and combinations thereof. Additional functionality is provided by including additional data, e.g. data in addition to routing data, along with voice data.

For example, a method for modifying a behavior of a client device in a data collection system, wherein the client device collects data and transmits data to a server, includes the following steps. The present invention is directed to a method for propagating contextual data in an audio communication by storing the contextual data obtained from a calling party in an extensible mark-up language formatted text document. A telephone call between a first party and a second party is converted to a session initiation protocol based voice over internet protocol communication, and the stored text document is attached to session initiation protocol messages that control the voice over internet protocol communication. The document is attached to the signaling messages by embedding the text document in a session description payload associated with the session initiation protocol message. The attached document is propagated with the audio communication, including when the signaling messages are used to transfer the audio communication from the second party to a third party or to add one or more addition parties to the audio communication.

A system and method for selection of a provenance dependency function in a stream-based data processing infrastructure to optimize backtracing performance in response to a provenance query includes determining performance of a set of dependency functions associated with an analysis component for determining relevancy of each input event received by the analysis component. The relevancy of each input event is determined according to each dependency function and storing a record of relevant events according to a recording method. Relevancy results of the dependency functions are aggregated, and the dependency functions are ordered according to a criterion. Data provenance is provided for a given output event using the input event recording method associated with a best dependency function according to the criterion.

Techniques are disclosed for maintaining and processing provenance data in such data stream processing systems. For example, a method for processing data associated with a data stream received by a data stream processing system, wherein the system comprises a plurality of processing elements, comprising the following steps. A portion of data associated with the data stream is maintained. The maintained data comprises inputs to each processing element that contributed to an output of each processing element. In response to an alert generated by one of the processing elements, a scheduler is triggered to determine when a pre-calculation of a prospective query related to the alert should be executed. In response to the scheduler, at least a portion of the maintained data is used to determine a set of data that contributed to the alert such that the alert-contributing set of data can be used to respond to the prospective query upon arrival thereof.
