Toner particles are provided which may include a core and a shell, one or both of which may include a polyester gel. The gel in the shell and/or core may prevent a crystalline resin in the core from migrating to the toner surface.

Toner compositions

The present disclosure provides toner compositions able to prevent the formation of mold or bacterial growth during storage. In embodiments, toners may include at least one biocide that prevents the formation of mold and/or bacteria in a toner composition, including any emulsion that may be utilized in forming the toner composition. In embodiments, the biocide may also improve charging characteristics of the toner.

Toner particles are provided which may, in embodiments, include a core and a shell, one or both of which may include a polyester gel. The gel in the shell and/or core may prevent a crystalline resin in the core from migrating to the toner surface.

Environmentally friendly toner particles are provided which may, in embodiments, include a bio-based amorphous polyester resin, optionally in combination with another amorphous resin and/or a crystalline resin. Toner particles may, in embodiments, have a core-shell configuration, with the shell formed of the bio-based amorphous polyester resin, the amorphous polyester resin, the crystalline polyester resin, or combinations thereof.

Toner compositions and processes

Toner particles are provided which may, in embodiments, include a gel. In embodiments, the toner particles may have a core-shell configuration, with the gel in the core, the shell, or both. The gel may prevent a crystalline resin in the core of the toner particles from migrating to the toner surface.

Toner particles are provided which may, in embodiments, include a core and a shell. In embodiments, charge control agents may be co-emulsified with a resin utilized to form a shell. The shell may prevent a crystalline resin in the core from migrating to the toner surface. Inclusion of the charge control agent in the shell itself may provide the resulting toner particles with desirable charge characteristics and sensitivity to relative humidity.

Environmentally friendly toner particles are provided which may, in embodiments, include a biodegradable semi-crystalline polyester resin and a biodegradable amorphous polyester resin.

The present disclosure provides toners and processes for preparing toner particles possessing excellent charging characteristics. The process includes forming a dispersion including at least one organic and/or organometallic charge control agent, and then combining that dispersion with an emulsion suitable for use in forming toner particles.

Toner process

Toner particles are provided which may, in embodiments, include a high molecular weight branched or cross-linked polyester to decrease image gloss and to increase toner elasticity to prevent surface additives impaction. In embodiments, the toner particles may have a core-shell configuration, with the high molecular weight polyester in the core, the shell, or both.

Toner particles are provided which may, in embodiments, include a core possessing at least one polyester resin in combination with a colorant, optional wax, and optional other additives, and a shell over the core including a high molecular weight amorphous polyester resin. The high molecular weight amorphous polyester resin in the shell may prevent any crystalline polyester resin in the core from migrating to the toner surface.

Disclosed is a toner composition comprising toner particles which comprise a resin, an optional colorant, and a polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane compound.
