It is hereby disclosed a method to print on porous substrate by a printer comprising: a print zone; a conveyor to receive a porous substrate on a loading zone and to move the porous substrate along a transport direction between the print zone and the loading zone; a print engine positioned on the print zone for ejecting printing fluid towards the porous substrate; wherein the method comprises ejecting printing fluid towards a front side the porous substrate and, by a controller, activating a vacuum source as to exert a vacuum on a back side of the porous substrate being the vacuum exerted while the porous substrate is within the print zone.

Textile printing wherein the printing comprises: acquire, by a controller, a print job comprising an image and a set of print parameters; position a textile in a printing zone; acquire a calibration image of the textile and transferring the calibration image to the controller; determine, by the controller, a set of calibrated print parameters based on the calibration image and the set of print parameters; and print the image on the textile using the set of calibrated print parameters.

It is hereby disclosed a direct-to-garment printer comprising: a print zone; a loading zone; and a conveyor to receive the garment and to move the garment bi-directionally along a transport direction between the print zone and the loading zone; wherein the printer further comprises a printbar located in the print zone, the printbar extending longitudinally along a width of the print zone and having a plurality of nozzles that span the width of the print zone.

Direct-to-garment printing with stationary print nozzles

According to one example, there is provided a method of processing an image. The method comprises obtaining image data representing an image to be printed, determining, from the image data, pixel locations on a substrate where ink is intended to be deposited and pixel locations where no ink is intended to be deposited, and modifying the image data to define varnish to be deposited at at least some of those substrate pixel locations determined as where no ink is intended to be deposited.

Printer

A method performed by a printing system is described herein. A request is provided to a user to enter data related to print quality of a mark or marks printed on a portion of a background region. The background region includes an area or areas treated with a fixer fluid applied by a printhead. A user input is received associated to the request. A misalignment of the printhead is estimated in accordance with the user input. A printing system and a tangible machine readable storage medium are also described herein.
