There is provided a method for handling an updated profile of a first network function (NF) node of a service producer in a network. The method is performed by a network repository function (NRF) node. Priority information for the first NF node is removed () from the updated profile received from the first NF node if the NRF node previously changed the priority information. The priority information is for use by the network node in selecting an NF node of a service producer to provide a service requested by a second NF node of a service consumer. The priority information is indicative of a priority with which the first NF node is to be selected relative to at least one other NF node of the service producer. Transmission () of the updated profile, with the priority information removed, is initiated towards the network node.

Handling an updated network function profile

Network equipment implements a network function in a wireless communication network. The network equipment obtains integrity verification information that is a function of only a portion of a message. The message is either a request for a service to be consumed by the network function or a response to a request for a service provided by the network function. The network equipment digitally signs an assertion that includes the integrity verification information, and then sends the message and the digitally signed assertion to a service communication proxy. Other network equipment that receives the message and the digitally signed assertion may check an integrity of the portion of the message, based on integrity verification information that the other network equipment obtains and on the integrity verification information included in the digitally signed assertion.

Integrity verification in a wireless communication network

Embodiments described herein relate to methods and apparatus for obtaining and/or providing Home Subscriber Service, HSS, information. A method in a first service based architecture, SBI, capable Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, entity includes: transmitting a discovery request to a network repository function, NRF; receiving a response comprising HSS information from the NRF; and transmitting at least a portion of the HSS information to a second SBI capable IMS entity.

Service based interface enabled home subscriber service selection

There is provided a method for handling a service request. The method is performed by a service communication proxy (SCP) node. The SCP node is configured to operate as an SCP between a first network function (NF) node of a service consumer and a second NF node of a service producer in the network. The method is performed in response to receiving, from the second NF node, a first response to a first request transmitted towards the second NF node via the SCP node. The first request is for the second NF node to provide a first service requested by the first NF node. Transmission of a second response is initiated towards the first NF node. The second response includes binding information irrespective of whether the binding information is present in the first response.

Bound service request handling

There is provided a method performed by a network repository function (NRF) node (). In response to receiving a request (), transmission of a response () is initiated towards a network node () that initiated transmission of the request (). The network node () is a first network function (NF) node () of a service consumer or a first service communication proxy (SCP) node () that is configured to operate as an SCP between the first NF node () and second NF nodes () of at least one service producer. The response () comprises first information indicative of any second NF nodes () identified for providing a service () requested by the first NF node (), and second information indicative of whether any second NF nodes () identified for providing the service are identified based on a criterion, and/or if a plurality of second NF nodes () are identified, third information indicative of whether the plurality of second NF nodes () are prioritised according to the criterion.

Discovery request and response handling

There is provided a method for prioritising a plurality of first NF nodes of at least one service producer. Transmission of a first message is initiated () towards a network repository function (NRF) node. The first message comprises information indicative of a plurality of criteria and an order of importance of the criteria. The information is for use in assigning priority information to the plurality of first NF nodes. For each first NF node, the priority information is indicative of a priority with which the first NF node is to be selected to provide a service relative to at least one other first NF node of the plurality of first NF nodes and the priority information is assigned based on one or more criteria of the criteria that the first NF node meets and the position of the one or more criteria in the order of importance of the criteria.

Prioritising network function nodes

There is provided a method for handling a service request. The method is performed by a first service communication proxy (SCP) node. If no response is received from a second network function (NF) node of a service producer to a first request transmitted towards the second NF node via the first SCP node, where the first request is for the second NF node to execute a service requested by a first NF node of a service consumer, transmission of information is initiated towards the first NF node. The information is indicative that no response is received from the second NF node to the first request.

Service request handling

A redirect server is configured in a service-based architecture, SBA, domain of a wireless communication network. The redirect server may receive configuration signaling indicating that a location of a resource or service in the SBA domain has changed from an old location to a new location. The redirect server receives, from a requestor in the SBA domain, a request that targets the old location of the resource or service in the SBA domain. The redirect, responsive to the request, transmits, from the redirect server to the requestor, a response that redirects the requestor to the new location of the resource or service in the SBA domain.

There is provided a method for handling a service request. The method is performed by a selection node. The method comprises initiating transmission of a first message towards at least a first Network Function (NF) node via a first Service Communication Proxy (SCP) node, wherein the first message is a status request. The method further comprises receiving, from the first SCP node, a second message indicating the status of the first NF node. The method also comprises determining whether or not to initiate transmission of a first request, for the provision of a first service, via the first SCP node to the first NF node, the determination of whether or not to initiate transmission of the first request to the first NF node being made based on the status of the first NF node indicated by the second message.

A technique for concurrency control of transactions in a system comprising a plurality of application instances accessing a database system is provided. A method implementation of the technique is performed by the database system and comprises receiving (S) a first transaction start request indicating a start of a first transaction to lock first data stored in the database system against access requests not belonging to the first transaction while the first transaction is ongoing, receiving (S) a second transaction start request indicating a start of a second transaction to lock second data stored in the database system against access requests not belonging to the second transaction while the second transaction is ongoing, the second data at least partly overlapping with the first data, receiving (S) an access request to at least a portion of the second data that overlaps with the first data while the first transaction and the second transaction are ongoing, the access request belonging to the second transaction, and controlling (S) acceptance of the access request based on determining whether the second transaction has a higher priority than the first transaction.

Technique for concurrency control

There is provided a method for handling a service request. The method is performed by a first service communication proxy (SCP) node. In response to receiving a first request from a first Network Function (NF) node for a further NF node to provide a first service, the first SCP node selects () a second NF node to provide the first service and stores () an identifier of the second NF node. The first SCP node also initiates transmission () towards the second NF node of the first request. In response to receiving, from the second NF node, a first response, the first SCP node stores () location information of the second NF node. The location information of the second NF node is stored in association with the identifier of the second NF node. The first SCP node also initiates transmission () of the first response towards the first NF node.

A method performed by a function in a network node in a telecommunications network having at least one service communication proxy, SCP, deployed between a first network node and a second network node. The method includes receiving a request for routing information to signal a message from the first network node to the second network node. The method further includes responsive to the request from the first network node, providing a response to a network node that sent the request wherein the response identifies at least a portion of a routing path for the message based on a routing path configuration.

Routing communication in telecommunications network having multiple service communication proxies

A method of registering a service in a telecommunication network having a Service Based Architecture, SBA. The telecommunication network has a Service Collection Function, SCF, including a plurality of distinct SBA services and including a Collection Controller, CoC, for registering and discovering the plurality of distinct SBA services within the SCF. The telecommunication network further includes a Network Repository Function, NRF, for registering and discovering services within the telecommunication network. The method includes the steps of receiving, by the CoC, from an of the distinct SBA services, a registration message for registering a service, determining, by the CoC, that the service is to be provided within the SCF, refraining, by the CoC, from forwarding the registration message to said NRF based on the determination, registering, by the CoC, the service in the CoC for discovering the service by any of the plurality of distinct SBA services within the SCF.

Transferring context data from a first network functional set, NFS, to another. A method and apparatuses provide for transferring restoration context data from a first NFS toward a second NFS.
